Silver Dollar City

We took our annual trip to Silver Dollar City. This trip was a little different because this was always a family trip with my in-laws and this was our first time without my mother-in-law. My father-in-law met us down there and we made some new memories. We did have some moments of sadness and tears but there was also fun and laughter. We made our first stop at Osceola Cheese Factory and sampled some cheese and then bought beef sticks and cheese sticks.

Our family picture at the entrance of Silver Dollar City.

The first thing we ALWAYS do when we walk in is eat funnel cakes.

Cass actually rode a ride.

Dylan was selected to be in a magic show. He did a great job and he loved being on stage. The magic trick was putting water in a cup and putting it on his head. The water vanished from the cup.

Riding Powder Keg

Cass and I do not ride roller coasters so we just sit and relax.

This was the first time Dylan was tall enough to ride Wildfire. (actually Michael took his socks off and stuffed them into Dylan's shoes and that is what made him tall enough) He loved it and he rode it 5 times.

Yes, that is Wildfire behind them. One big hill and 5 loops.

Log Ride

Michael got soaked!!!!

Dylan, did you read the sign???

Cass and Dylan want a rocking chair like this at home.

We had a long fun day and Dylan was exhausted and barely made it through dinner.

I am really glad we are going to continue our trips to Silver Dollar City. We all had a great time!!

Injury Update

I took Dylan to the doctor today and they did x-rays of his thigh and hip. He has a strained muscle where the tendons and muscles connect close to the hip bone. He is doing much better and is even walking without limping tonight.

Tuesday Night

Cass and I made Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread tonight. Dylan was at football practice and Michael was working so we thought we should make something delicious. It was so moist and yummy!

Dylan has a football injury and can not put any weight on his left leg. We have been putting ice on it but the coach thinks he should go to the doctor tomorrow. We will see how the morning goes.

Louisburg Cider Mill and More!!!!

Every year we go to the Louisburg Cider Mill for their Ciderfest. They have little craft booths set up and of course we always get delicious apple cider donuts and apple cider.

Here is a picture of the apples being dropped out of the truck. They are washed and then pressed.

I HAD to buy this pumpkin because I loved the curly stem.

Michael taught Dylan how to make FIRE AND ICE PICKLES. Good job Dylan, they were very good!

Football update: lost 8-28
We are losing by less points each game!!!!

Where did the weekend go??

Dylan had his 2nd football game ever in his life and the poor thing was stressed before we even got there. We made a stop before the game and the car would not start back up. A very nice guy tried to jump the Tahoe but it did not work. Dylan was sitting in the back and said "We are never going to make it to my football game." The very nice guy looked at Dylan and said "You will not miss your game because I know a great taxi service that will get you there on time so you guys better get in so we can go." When he dropped us off at the game, I told him that he just saved a little boy's day. We lost the game 22-0. Oh, well he was excited because he started on offense and had a lot of fun.

This morning Cass and I made Cinnamon Bread. She brought the recipe home from her foods class so I told her we could make it. It was really good and we ate half of it for breakfast.

This afternoon we went to The Renaissance Festival. Michael was even selected to be part of a show.

Dylan eating a turkey leg.

This evening Dylan was still working on his roller coaster and decided he needed smaller pieces of wood and Michael let him use a clamp and a saw for the first time.

Dylan was very proud!!!!
