Sand Dunes

On Friday, we picked the kids up early (around noon) from school and headed to the Sand Dunes in Waynoka, Oklahoma. We stopped in Caldwell and said hi to Grandma and Grandpa and picked up the trailer. (We took the trailer down for Homecoming and decided to leave it there for a few weeks) Grandma made us chocolate chip cookies for our trip and we ate half of them before we left town. Thanks Grandma! We arrived in Waynoka around 6:30pm so it was dark and we really could not get a good look of the campground. We woke up Saturday morning and this was the view from our window in the trailer.

It felt like we were in one big sand pit!

Michael and Uncle Robert drove into town so Michael could rent a four-wheeler. Uncle Robert had a razor, so the kids and I rode with him.

Dylan was so excited to get out on the dunes !

I was a little nervous but after Uncle Robert strapped me in, I felt pretty safe but thank goodness I was able to hold on to the bar. If you look closely, the handle has a name.

Cass loved the Sand Dunes. We were all surprised but she did not want to leave this morning because she was ready to go ride some more.

There goes Michael!!!!!

Dylan was allowed to drive the four-wheeler around the campground at 3-4 mph. He thought that was pretty cool.
On the way home we stopped in Caldwell again and Grandma and Grandpa bought us pizza for lunch and then we headed back home. Thanks again for the food!! We had a lot of fun and the kids are already planning the next trip to Sand Dunes.

Thanks Uncle Robert and Aunt Janice for a fun weekend.

Rough Weekend

It was not a fun weekend! Dylan has been very sick with a high fever, cough and throwing up. He actually slept most of the day and around 3:00pm he sat up and said "I want some green grapes." Of course I had to go to the store and get some but I was excited that he wanted to eat. I bought 2 pounds of grapes and a new lego set. He put together his lego motor home and has eaten 1 pound of grapes. I still can not believe he tested negative for the flu. Hopefully he is over this nasty virus.

Dylan is sick!!!

Poor Dylan has been running a fever and has been coughing. He tested negative for the flu yesterday afternoon. Last night when I took his temperature it was 103.1 degrees. Dylan and I slept in the living room and I was giving him Tylenol and Motrin every four hours. Even with all the medication his fever stayed around 101 until this morning. For breakfast, he wanted an orange slush from Sonic and club crackers. Hopefully today will be a better day.

Cass gets all A's

We do not give money for grades but we decided that straight A's deserved something special and especially since this was the first time Cass had ever received all A's. Cass has been wanting a pair of NIKE SHOX so we decided that would be the perfect reward and she agreed. Good job Cass and keep up all of your hard work. We are very proud of you!

Happy Birthday Michael, Football Victory, Happy Halloween, and Happy Birthday Dylan

It has been non-stop fun at our house this weekend. Mom and Dad came to visit to help celebrate Michael's 40th birthday, and watch Dylan's football game, see the kids in their Halloween costumes and celebrate Dylan's 9th birthday. We started the weekend off by going out to dinner Friday night at Waxy O'Sheas Irish Pub and then we went to Sharks and met up with some friends for Michael's birthday. We played darts, pool and ping pong. It was a lot of fun and I have never laughed so hard making fun of my mom. Sorry mom but I could not help it.

Mom tried to play darts but after 6 attempts of not even hitting the dart board she gave up!

Then Michael tried to help mom at pool. No, she did not win!!!!

Well, this is where things got interesting!! My mom and my friend Sheila TRIED to play ping pong. At one point Sheila could not find a paddle so she was using a menu! We did not keep score because we were hysterical. I had tears coming down my face and my side was hurting because I was laughing so hard.

This is the picture of the night and yes I still claim her as my mother!

Katie, Sheila, Kelly and me

We woke up early Saturday morning and wished Michael a Happy Birthday and I made Breakfast Casserole and Cinnamon Bun Cake. Then off to the football game. Dylan's team had never won a game but WE WON this time. The score was 12-14 (we were 14) and there was 10 seconds left of the game and the other team had 10 yards to go to make a touchdown but our hard working defense kept them from making it.

Dylan and his friend Joshua were very excited for their win!

We did not have time to carve a pumpkin until Halloween. Dylan did a great job cleaning out the pumpkin but some flew up and landed on his lip.

Happy Halloween!! Cass was a Honey Bee and Dylan was a Zombie Doctor.

Happy 9th birthday Dylan!!! Dylan invited 5 friends and we had a party at Zonkers.

<

Dylan opened presents from Grandma and Grandpa, Auntie "M", Cass and Mommy and Daddy at home. He was a little excited about his AC/DC lunch box and his whoopie cushion. He got cool new sheets for his bed, roller coaster game, AC/DC wallet and a K'nex roller coaster that he will have to build.

Now I need a day off to recover from the weekend!

Momless Baby Shower

Have you ever been to a baby shower when the expected mom was not there? Well, they are not as fun as regular baby showers. We wanted to have a little party at work today with lots of yummy food and presents for my friend Jennifer who is expecting her second child but her little girl was sick and Jennifer had to stay home. Sorry Jennifer but we ate all of the food and left you the presents.

Katie and I decided to wrap her presents with horrible looking bows, feathers and stick on letters that said "nugget". That is what the baby is called right now.

We missed you Jennifer!!!!!
