A Visit from Uncle Robert

Dylan had a basketball game Friday night and I was so into the game that this is the only picture I got that night. I thought it was a good picture of him listening to one of his coaches.

Uncle Robert came up to go to the RV/Boat show on Saturday morning. We did not buy a new RV but we did find one we liked a lot.

At the RV/Boat show they had a sea lion show. It was actually very entertaining.

We went to Five Guys for lunch because Uncle Robert had never been there. He thought it was tasty and even took a picture of his hamburger to show Aunt Janice.

Thanks for a great day Uncle Robert!!!!

We have today off and I have been trying to catch up on laundry and the kids have been playing checkers and being lazy. We have done nothing exciting today!!!

Trying to Stay Warm

The thermometer said that it got down to NEGATIVE 6.9 degrees this weekend and that is way too cold for me!

We were all tired of staying at home so we went to the Matt Ross Community Center in Overland Park. We had lots of fun swimming and enjoying the hot tub.

Who is that showing off???

"I think there is water in my eye."

A little game of water basketball

Relaxing in the hot tub

Dylan and Michael shot a few hoops before we went home.

Saturday night Michael made us Dulce de Leche coffee.
Delicious!!!

Here is the snow fort Michael and Dylan worked on.

We ended our nice weekend with a family game of CLUE.

Well, after having 5 days off it will be hard to go back to work tomorrow but we only have 5 days until a 3 day weekend!!

3rd Snow Day in a Row

Three snow days in a row!! Cass and Dylan were getting a little stir crazy since they had been stuck in the house so I let them invite some friends over for the day.

Then Dylan had a 6:00pm basketball game and they won!!

They had an after the game chat!

Dylan scored two points and did a great job on defense! The score was 30-22.

Did I say that I LOVE SNOW DAYS???

Another Snow Day

We were able to stay home again today!! This is a picture of our deck covered with snow. Michael measured it and it was 13 inches and that is because it keeps on snowing before any of it can melt!!

Later in the day we cuddled up in blankets and watched "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs". It was a really cute movie.

After the movie, Michael told the kids that they had been lazy long enough and they should do something productive. I do not think they enjoyed shoveling the driveway!

Cass took a little break and tasted the snow!

Then we made snow ice cream when they came in from outside! They did not like it but Michael and I thought it tasted fine. It was eight cups of clean snow, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 can of sweetened condensed milk all mixed together.

I LOVE SNOW DAYS!!!

Snow Day

Yea! We had our first snow day of the year. Last year we did not get any snow days so we enjoyed today. Cass and Dylan did not get out of their pajamas. Does this can look familiar to anyone?? This is what a Pepsi can use to look like many years ago. For a limited time only, you can buy Pepsi made with REAL sugar and it is tasty!

We made Winter Wonderland Snowman Brownies. Everyone got to decorate their own snowman and eat it!!!!

Michael's snowman

Happy Snow Day!!!!

Shogun Japanese Steakhouse

Tonight we took the kids to Shogun Japanese Steakhouse. They have only been once to a Japanese steakhouse and that was three years ago when Auntie "M" got married. Michael found a coupon so off we went for some good food and fun.

Dylan caught his flying shrimp in his mouth after the 5th attempt!

Cass caught her shrimp on the 1st attempt!

Daddy never caught his!

This is what we saw when we walked out of the restaurant. Yes, more snow!!!!

When we got home we had homemade Cream Cheese Brownies. I have made them several times but this is my favorite recipe. Click here for the recipe!
