Wedding Day

Today Cass and I went and had our nails done for the big wedding. My father-in-law got married and there was a dinner and dance. We all had lots of fun!

Here is Michael square dancing and this is something you do not see very often.

Rain Rain Go Away!!!!

It was time for our annual BBQ for my work and I was not happy because there was rain in the forecast. I got up and went to water aerobics and it was raining so I decided to stop at John's Space-age Donut Shop afterwards and bring home a treat for the family. Cass and Dylan had never tried their donuts and Michael grew up eating them. They have been in business since 1967 and I love their chocolate glazed donuts.

Now it was time to get ready for the BBQ. We needed to have a plan since it was still raining. Here is Cass making her homemade BBQ sauce.

It stopped raining for a little while so Dylan was trying to dry off the deck with the leaf blower.

Well, when the party started it was raining again so we had to put up a canopy to cover up part of the patio and we used the garage so people could stay dry.

Even though it was cold and rainy we all had a great time.

Potato Chips and Poetry

Today Dylan did a great job reciting his poem called "It's Not My Fault" on Potato Chip and Poetry Day. We enjoyed eating potato chips and listening to poetry. We are very proud of you Dylan.

Happy Mother's Day

I have had a wonderful Mother's Day and weekend. I enjoyed camping, the BBQ competition, Iron Man 2, Mexican food and family!! Now I am going to enjoy sitting in my chair for the rest of the evening.


Does this look like we were "roughing it" at the campground??? Uncle Robert taught me some fun things to do on the computer with my pictures so that is why the computer is on the picnic table.

We are so glad Uncle Robert and Aunt Janice spent the weekend with us at the campground. We had so much fun and I think they enjoyed watching the excitement of the BBQ competition.

BBQ Competition Day 2

We had a great weekend!! We got 11th place out of 47 teams. That is pretty darn good for our first BBQ competition as a family. Our team name is PAIN IN THE PORK BUTT. Michael is pretty proud and we are looking forward to competing again.

BBQ Competition Day 1

Yea, it is May!!

Michael had to smoke 6 pork butts for my parents to take home for dad's metal detecting hunt that is going on next weekend. We will not be able to attend because we will be competing in our first BBQ competition. Don't worry we were able to sample some of this delicious pork.

Saturday morning we went to the Festival of Smoke in downtown Overland Park. I am so glad that I do not have to see this smoker on my deck.

Dad and Dylan needed to take a little break from all of the fun.

The rest of the day mom and I went shopping and dad took Cass and Dylan to a movie. Where in the world did the weekend go????
