Shawnee Indian Mission

I took the day off today and went on a field trip with Dylan. We went to the Shawnee Indian Mission and we learned about Native Americans and we also learned about the trails and how people survived in the 1800's.

They were separated into families and they learned what they would need for their trip on the Oregon Trail. Dylan was a wagon puller.

Out of 6 families, Dylan's family was the biggest success!!! I had a lot of fun spending the day with Dylan. After the field trip is a whole different story. I will be blogging about that later.

Weekend Update

We decided it was time for the playhouse/swing set to go since the kids do not play on it anymore. Cass and Dylan were fine but Michael and I both agreed that it was hard to see it go. It just proves that are babies are growing up! Michael gave it to a family with two small children for free but they had to take it down themselves.

Going!

Going!

Gone!

Then Dylan had a football game! This picture was taken before the game.

After the game!
I am hoping someday I blog about a win!

K-State/Nebraska Game

Our neighbor had a party last night for the K-State/Nebraska game. They had a big screen and projector and lots of chairs set up outside for the big game.

Since our family are not K-State or Nebraska fans, I decided to invite some of friends who are!
Vicki, Katie, me and Keri

Michael smoked all of the meat (pork butt and ribs) so here he is making sure everyone is enjoying the food.

Katie taking her first bite of meat off a bone since she was a child!

It was a perfect evening to have a party outside!

Party Bus

What was I thinking?? Several of us hopped on a party bus and spent the evening driving around KC. The bus stopped at the Power and Light District and we stayed there for a few hours. We had a lots of laughs and there was a lot of dancing.

What was he thinking?? Michael rode a mechanical bull. Here he is signing the waiver.

Here is Katie riding the bull also!

My favorite picture of the whole night is when Katie is talking to the mechanical bull after she has fallen off.

At the end of the night we had to have a picture taken with the bus driver. I hope he was old enough to drive :)

Chiefs Youth Field

Dylan's team played their game today on the Chiefs Youth Field. It was so cool because they played on actual turf instead of grass. They thought it was pretty neat to be right next to Arrowhead Stadium.

The building to the left is the Chiefs indoor practice facility. Dylan said he had the best game of his life because he got to run the ball. This was the first time ever that he played offense and they passed him the ball 3 times and he almost made the extra point. Even though they lost AGAIN he was so proud of himself. We are so proud of you Dylan!! Good Job

Cafe Roux and Paciugo

Tonight Michael and I went out to dinner with our friends Ann and Ricky. We tried Cafe Roux and it was pretty good but I would not go back without a coupon because it was a little pricey.

We had natchitoches for an appetizer. It is a pastry filled with spicy ground beef and pork with a creole mustard dip. Not bad!!

My favorite part of the whole evening was going to Paciugo and eating gelato. It was so delicious. I got a small and you can get three different flavors so I got Amaretto Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chocolate Chip and my favorite was Mediterranean Sea Salt Caramel. I can not even explain to you how delicious it was. Michael and Ann even tried the Maple Bacon and they both really enjoyed it.

Ann and I look like we just won the lottery!!
We will definitely be going back to Paciugo's to eat gelato!
