Three Day Weekend

Quinton's Bar and Deli has delicious chicken salad sandwiches but do not ask Michael how the service was.  Sometimes it is not fun having a waitress on her first night.  Michael ordered soup without bacon and a sandwich with mayo on the side.  Do you think he got that??? NO  It is not funny but if anything is going to go wrong with someones meal it will ALWAYS be his meal!  Sorry honey!  We still enjoyed spending time with our friends Ann and Ricky.

Ann and I after eating our wonderful chicken salad sandwiches!

I wanted to add this recipe I made this week that was really good.  It was called chicken lazone.
Busy weekend with Cass going to her first dance with a boy!! YIKES!!  Dylan playing in a basketball tournament and Grandpa and Grandma visiting for the weekend. Thank goodness it is a three day weekend.

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day (which Michael says is a made up holiday) is usually pretty uneventful.  I did bring something sweet for all my friends at work today.  It was a red velvet cheese ball with animal crackers.

I went to Dylan's party at school and it was pretty calm.

Cass and Dylan opened their gifts and they were very excited about their freezer mugs.

I made a nice dinner that Cass and I enjoyed together because Dylan had basketball practice.  I made pork diablo and cheesy green chili rice.
Happy Valentine's Day!!

A Very Busy Day!

This morning Cass made us homemade buttermilk biscuits

Michael and I made egg sandwiches out of them. The biscuits were delicious!!

I decided to work on Dylan's treats for his Valentine's Day Party and I am so glad that I did not wait until tomorrow night to make them.  It took me about two hours!  I made Valentine twinkies.

I dipped them in almond bark and then decorated them.

My kitchen was a total disaster area.

Finished product!

I also made Reeses's Krispies today.

Dylan got his new bed this morning.  Wow, a full size bed!

Michael finished his nightstand/dresser.

Cass got sparkly curtains for her closet.

Now I am going to go sit in my chair and enjoy the nice warm fire.

Mother/Daughter Day

We had a wonderful mother/daughter day! Of course we started off by having our Starbucks and watching the Today Show.

Then off to the mall.  Here is her dress I bought her for the WPA dance. (next weekend there will be more pictures)

Cass wanted to eat lunch at Lettuce Eat so she could have her favorite BLT sandwich.

Then we went to Best Regards Bakery for dessert.

After all of that fun we went to the movies and saw THE VOW.

For dinner, Cass made us delicious buttermilk pancakes!
I love that my teenage daughter still enjoys spending time with me.  It was the perfect way to start the weekend!!

Superbowl

What an exciting game!  This year we continued our tradition of Chris and Kelly coming over for the Superbowl.  We have been doing this for around 7 years. (we think)  We had a nacho bar and I also made ice cream sundae brownies.

Kelly made this delicious peanut butter football dip.

Dylan was trying to attack Kelly during the game and Cass looks annoyed.

It was so nice to watch the game and have a nice fire going.

I think they are pretty relaxed!!
Now it is time for bed!!

Office Cocktail Party

My wonderful mother got me a cocktail of the day calendar for my desk at work and my friend Vicki suggested we have an office cocktail party at my house. Since work has been pretty stressful lately we decided to have a comfy clothes cocktail party.  Everyone brought a cocktail to taste test plus a finger food.  It was a very casual but fun get together!!

Making homemade crab rangoon

Preparing for another stressful week but we will survive it!!  Thank goodness I have the day off Friday!
