Pitt State Gorillas

What a beautiful day to be in Gorilla Country!!  We went to Pittsburg, KS to spend family day at the Pittsburg State University campus.  Our first stop was at the Mall Deli which is my favorite place to eat.  Turkey on french roll with sharp cheddar and dip it in their special creamy Italian. YUMOLA

Then off to campus to see Gus the Gorilla!

Welcome to the Jungle Baby!!

SOLD OUT!  Thank goodness we ordered our tickets!

This is how we tailgate!  Dylan sitting in a lawn chair on the roof of the Tahoe.  Well, because of this we won tailgaters of the week.  We won a charcoal grill, stadium blanket, coffee mug, chair and a $50 gift card to a meat place in Pittsburg.

Since we won Michael was interviewed on the radio.

Wine Barn and Vineyard (Guest Blogger)

Stacey Habrich here....guest blogger!

Tonight we went to Wine Barn and Vineyard!  They had GREAT wines....we tried a Chardonnay and a Rose!  Delish!  We decided that the Chardonnay was the best of the two.....AFTER having pizza and the Rose wine twice!

Mike and Nicole.....the wonderful couple!

Delicious wine!  I even bought one to stock up my wine collection!

My FIRST Jack in the Box experience......I will have to say it is the most RANDOM menu EVER.....yet delicious!  As Ann pointed out.....our food choices tonight were all over the place, pizza and wine at the winery and then tacos, hashbrowns, egg rolls, and churros to top it off!

Tacos=SO good.....yet they are the flattest thing ever!

All in all...great night!  So relaxing and good friend time!

Life Changing Weekend

Well, we have a new addition to our family! We adopted a puppy named Mason.  He is our first pet ever!  We surprised the kids and they both cried when we brought him home.  Thanks Sheila, Pete and Katie for helping us! We love him!

I think we wore him out.

Mason

My parents also came this weekend but our plans got changed when we found out we were getting a puppy.  I did have time to take them to We B Nuts and Stuff to get some yummy snacks for Dylan's football game.

Dylan also did his own experiment.  He popped popcorn in his homemade aluminum foil popcorn popper.  Yes, he had it over a flame of a candle.

It worked!!

What a life changing weekend!!  The kids are so excited that we finally have a pet!

Short Visit With My Sister

My sister had to come to Kansas City for work so she stopped by for a little while this evening. One hour is NOT enough but at least we got to see her.

Dylan decided to give Auntie "M" a piggy back ride!

Auntie "M" and Cass

I really wish my sister lived closer because I sure do miss her.

Tennis Lessons

Cass had her first tennis lesson yesterday. Cass has NEVER enjoyed anything that requires physical activity so when she showed interest in tennis Michael found lessons for her.

Wow, there is a little jog.

Looks like she is having fun!

Cass with a little sweat!!

She had fun and is looking forward to next Saturday.

Lake of the Ozarks

We had a nice Labor Day weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Our first adventure was going shopping at the Osage Beach Outlet Mall.  Of course everyone walked away with something except for me.

The boys being patient while Cass and I were shopping.

After shopping the boys were able to drive go-carts.

Dylan won!!!!!

Then we enjoyed the view at Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

The castle ruins at Ha Ha Tonka State Park.

Then we decided to walk a trail while there was a light rain. Please read below!

On the trail

This is what was at the bottom of the 316 steps.

Our campground had a beach and a restaurant called Frankie and Louie's (which had the best drink called a Lake Water)

I am enjoying  a delicious Lake Water.

Girls having fun at the beach.

New Mailbox, New Donut Shop, New Recipes

Thank you to the person who hit our ugly mailbox that had no flag and faded numbers.

Because now I have one that actually looks decent. (Thanks to Michael for building a nice stand for it.)

We tried a new donut shop yesterday that was extremely expensive. Dylan eating the biggest long john I have ever seen.

Cass enjoying her Reese's Pieces donut.

Sorry to all my friends who hate clowns. I just had to buy him and the donut kabobs.

Four days of work this week and then off to the Lake of the Ozarks.
