The Big 4-0!!!

WOW! I can not believe I turned 40 today! I had a wonderful birthday with lots of birthday wishes at work and on Facebook.

This is my office chair!

We had a potluck at work with lots of yummy food and I even made cappuccino brownies.

Then my wonderful husband brought home my favorite sandwich. It came from The Mall Deli in Pittsburg, KS. It was a total surprise and I loved it!!

YAY! My Mom, Dad, Sister, and Keeley are here visiting for the whole weekend! Mom brought these adorable cookies for my birthday dessert! They were so yummy!

Michael, Cass and Dylan got me a brand new camera and I love it. Now I need to figure out how to use it!

My new camera!!!

It is so nice to have my family here to help me celebrate my birthday!
Thank you family and friends for a wonderful birthday!

It is nice to have friends!

It kind of stinks when you have to work a few hours every day of the weekend but it is nice to have friends that will help make it better.

On Saturday our friends Vicki(she took the photo), Trent and Hannah met Michael and I at Snack Shack for some yummy burgers and onion rings. I think Hannah was a little disappointed that Cass and Dylan were not there. Thank you Howerton Family for some lunch time fun!

Today when I got home from work I made the ugliest cookies I have ever made in my life. They looked nothing like the pictures on the blog. Thank goodness they were good!

I also made Salted Caramel Cheesecake Cups for dessert.

Our friends Kelly and Chris came over for dinner tonight. Michael smoked a brisket and Kelly made delicious cheesy potatoes.

Thanks Kelly and Chris for ending our busy weekend on a good note.

Last night as I was getting ready for bed I saw this on my pillow!

Then I saw the guilty one who put the plastic cockroach on my pillow. The joys of having a son!!!!

August Movie Club

My friend Alysha and I have started a movie club with our friends at work. Every month we will choose a movie and invite all staff from work to join us. Tonight 10 of us met at Cinemark and saw CRAZY, STUPID, LOVE. We all enjoyed it and I personally loved it.

Kelly, Nancy, Ann D., Sheila, Vicki, Stacey, Mitchell, me and Alysha. Ann S. is missing from the picture because she sprinted to the bathroom right when it was over.
Looking forward to the September movie!

A Much Needed Weekend!

I really needed a fun and relaxing weekend and I got it. Thanks to an early birthday present from my friend Katie I was able to enjoy a table for two with my husband at Piropos Grille in Parkville, MO. Our dinner was delicious! Thank you so much Katie!

Then when we got home we started having a dance party with Michael as the DJ. I can not believe we stayed up till midnight dancing, singing and laughing the night away.

Today Cass and I had a nail appointment and then I made peanut butter sheet cake and white Texas sheet cake(without the walnuts) for work tomorrow.
Ready for another extremely busy week with meetings and trainings all five days!

Cowboys and Aliens

What a busy week!!!!!! Some of my friends from work celebrated the end of an extremely busy week and we saw COWBOYS AND ALIENS. I was expecting it to be horrible and it was not at all bad but definitely not my favorite movie. It was so nice to relax and start the weekend. (finally)

Thanks everyone for a fun evening!!!
We have started a movie club at work and it starts on Wednesday. Looking forward to more movies.

Daddy is Home!!

Michael got home last night around midnight after being gone for five days. We are sure glad he is back home.

He needed a little nap today!

This morning I made him a potato crusted quiche for his welcome home breakfast. The recipe called for bacon but I put sausage in it.

Then we had basketball this afternoon and I wanted to put these pictures on the blog so everyone could see how tall the other team was. Dylan looked so tiny!

Dylan turning in his Kansas City Premiere uniform. He played basketball for 9 months and now it is time for football.

Tonight we have enjoyed a quiet evening with some chocolate chip peanut butter truffle cookies.
