24 Hours

Mom and Dad are here for 24 hours and then they are going to go enjoy a little get-away just the two of them. I can't believe I am not invited!

We spent most of the day on the deck soaking in the awesome weather. Tomorrow is suppose to be 37 degrees!

We had a good dinner at Dickey's Barbecue Pit and then Cass had to go to work to host a party.

It was an absolutely beautiful evening to sit outside and enjoy a pink fizzy.

Happy Saturday!!

A Perfect Start to Spring Break

First of all I got four inches cut off my hair!

Then my work went bowling and we had so much fun!! Sheila was making sure she got a spare.

My boss excited that she didn't get a gutter ball!

Bowling Buddies!

After a fun afternoon of bowling I had a little sangria party.  Sheila made white peach sangria and I made sassy sangria.

Katie, Sheila, Lorie and I enjoyed several glasses of sangria and enjoyed the beautiful weather and spoiling Griffin.

YAY! SPRING BREAK!

Happy 17th Birthday Cass!

Our baby girl turned 17 today and Cass told me last night I was not allowed to get teary.  I got up and bought Cass donuts and a Starbucks coffee for her birthday breakfast.

After a visit from Grandpa A and Marge we let Cass open her presents.  Thank goodness we got the right NIKE shoes:)

Cass had another special visitor today.  Griffin came to visit!!  Well, his mommy Katie came over also.

Griffin is so adorable!

Laughing at his mommy or the TV!

Aunt Ann stopped by also today and then Cass had three friends come over for her birthday.  We took them to Pie 5 for dinner.

Then we came home for cake.

It took her three times to blow out her candles.

The girls ready for the Emblem 3 concert at the Uptown.

Cass making sure she had all four tickets to the concert.

Leaving for the concert

Happy Birthday Cass Marie!!

I Love the Oscars

I get so excited for the Oscars! Sometimes it is not fun seeing all the movies because sometimes the movies are horrible. This year I only hated one movie and it was HER. I started my day off by going to a basketball game and then coming home to try my new kitchen toy out. I got a cold brew coffee maker and I love it.  I made magical coffee and it was yummy.

Then I got ready for the Oscar party.  I was worried that no one would come since we had a nice little snow shower in the afternoon but I was wrong.  My friends Sheila, Mitchell, Nick, Stacey, Chris and our friend Ann (we had to face time her so she is on the iPad) joined me for some Oscar fun.  I made Irish cream brownies with browned butter frosting, chocolate moon pies, cowboy caviar, Italian margaritas and captain vacation cocktail.  My friends brought yummy food also. It did suck that I had to get up early this morning for work so hopefully next year I can have the day off.

I love the Oscar party and I can't wait for next year!

Another Short Visit

Yesterday my sister flew into KC for a meeting and spent the night and flew back home today.  I always enjoy our time together no matter how short the visit.  I usually go to bed around 9:30 but I stayed up with my sister till 11:00pm so I was a little tired at work.

Today I received a text from Cass that said "Can I fix dinner tonight?"  Who on earth would say no?  She made bierocks for dinner and I made Andes mint cookie dough truffles for work tomorrow.

Fun Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

Mom and Dad came up this weekend to visit and we had a fun time. Saturday morning Mom said she needed to go to Walmart and everyone said "Why do we have to go to Walmart? Yuck!" Dad asked why I just couldn't take them to a fancy Walmart so I said "alright"!!  So I took them on a little road trip and took them to the fanciest looking Walmart I know. Just look at the beautiful stone pillars:)

After Walmart we stopped at Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe for lunch and it was sooo delicious.  It was our first time eating there and now I really wish we had one closer to home.

We did some more shopping and then off to Saints Pub for dinner and to watch some of the KU game. Then we came home to watch the rest of the game and Mom and I enjoyed some pineapple amaretto sours.

Before Mom and Dad left this morning I made pecan cinnamon roll biscuits which were very yummy!

Dylan worked on his science project which was actually a shrink a dink!

Watching to make sure it was shrinking

Success!  Now if he can get it to school without breaking it.

My sunday afternoon baking project was almond melt-away cookies.

Now I am going to go make spaghetti a la philly for dinner and then go to Dylan's 7:45 game.
