Last Day of Winter Break

I HATE the last day of winter break but it didn't start off bad because Michael made me a sausage egg and cheese sandwich breakfast. My sandwich and a Starbucks made a good start to the day.

This is what I am going to miss a lot!!  Sometimes he does not even want me to look at my iPad.

I forgot to show off my new wine caps.  Michael got these for me for Christmas and I love what they say.

I did not want to go upstairs to put the clean sheets on the bed so I bribed Dylan with some cash. ($5) I am going to start making him do this because it was like a hotel room.  I love the towel with the microwave popcorn by it.

For dinner I made glazed meatloaf, cream cheese potatoes and green beans and churro chex mix for dessert. Now I am going to try to enjoy the last hour and a half with a Jack Frost martini. (or two)

Not ready for the alarm to go off at 4:45am. BOOOO

Cass Got a Promotion at Sky Zone

We celebrated with homemade bacon cheeseburgers tonight. (yes, there is even a recipe link)

Movie Day with the Kids

For breakfast I made homemade pancakes (a version of Alton Brown's pancake recipe) and homemade peanut butter maple syrup. YUMMY!

Then off to the movies.  We saw "Night at the Museum" and I have enjoyed all three of them.

I just finished making 15 minute skillet lasagna (mine took 20) and now I am ready to enjoy the last weekend of winter break. BOOO!!!

First Day of 2015

The boys worked very hard today taking down all of the Christmas lights.

Our yard looks very bare.

Tonight we had family game night but Mason wanted us to play with him.

He apparently got tired of waiting on us and he fell asleep by my feet.

We all enjoy playing Yatzee even though Dylan has NEVER gotten Yatzee before.

Last Day of 2014

New Year's Eve was pretty lame this year! We had delicious snacks though... we had hot wings, puppy chow, homemade funfetti sheet cake (awesome recipe), crockpot chex mix, and jalapeño popper dip.

We rented three movies and only watched two.  The movie "When the Game Stands Tall" was a really good movie.

We had a few games of table tennis in the garage.

We all pretty much suck!

Happy last day of 2014

My Sunday...

Today I had fun shopping with my gift cards I got for Christmas.

I bought a new shirt, desk calendar, cuisinart mini chopper, Vera Wang purse, wallet and

two new oven mitts.

Then for dinner I made three new recipes bacon wrapped new potatoes w/ garlic aoli, garlic parmesan dinner rolls, jalapeño creamed corn and Michael grilled pork porks. 

It was a pretty good Sunday in my opinion! (Especially since the alarm will not be going off tomorrow.)

J. Rieger's Whiskey Tour and Lunch at Local Pig

Michael and I took a distillery tour of J. Rieger's Whiskey in Kansas City, Mo.

This is where they will making a new batch of whiskey that will be ready in 4-5 years.

We were able to participate in the bottling process.

After the tour we ate lunch at the Local Pig....

and bought fresh pork chops to eat tomorrow night.

It was a fun Saturday afternoon!!
