A Great Start to Winter Break

What a great way to start winter break! Yummy beverages, meatball mozzarella sandwiches, pinwheels, peanut butter balls. cinnamon sugar pretzels, and Christmas crack.

We sat by the fire and enjoyed watching all of the people who stopped by and watched the show.

Not a bad evening! Cranberry mimosa, warm fire and the Christmas light show.

Look who stopped by for the light show!!

What a beautiful evening to sit outside!

Light Show Party

We had a great turnout at the Arnott Family Light Show Party.  Here is everyone watching the light show but you can't tell that we have a long line down the street.

Now that's a garage party!!

Shopping Day and a Basketball Game

I am so thankful that Sheila was able to drive in from Illinois (actually her car broke down 19 miles from my house Thursday night but the guy from road side service brought her to me) and Ann was able to fly in from Massachusetts for our annual shopping day. We dropped off Dylan at school at 7:15am and then started our day.

Of course the shirt Ann wanted was twelve feet in the air but I saved the day and got it down for her.

In the middle of the day we had to stop and make a sign for Dylan's first high school basketball game.

We had so much fun at Dylan's game and he loved his crafty creative sign. I am sure the Cougars won because of all of the cheering and extra support they had.

Dylan had a great game and we were so proud of him.

Another shopping day down with all new memories and adventures.

Gatorade Scrimmage and Awards

This morning we were able to watch the boys basketball teams scrimmage each other. It was really fun to watch the freshman play the varsity team. I am sure the varsity team was a little surprised of how well the freshman team performed.

At the end the coaches gave out awards for "Team Five One" conditioning club and awards for the shooting club.   Dylan received an outstanding attendance award for his conditioning club. As for the shooting club, the players could set a goal of shooting 8,000 shots in a 8-week period or 10,000 shots(Diamond Level) in a 8-week period.  I am so proud to say that Dylan was the only freshman who made Diamond Level.

We were so glad that Grandma and Grandpa were able to see him scrimmage and receive his awards.

Dylan, keep up the hard work! We are so proud of you!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Our morning started off by watching the parade. I can't believe we were at the parade last year.  We usually go on a family vacation every Thanksgiving so it was a little weird to be home.

We had a delicious buffet lunch at Stroud's.

Then Mom, Cass and I stopped and got peppermint mochas and came home and watched a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Dylan tried to take a nap.

Since we got Mason, this is the first Thanksgiving we have been home.  I think he was happy.

He sure loved Grandma.

We had a fun game of Monopoly this evening. I did not win.

Since we did not have leftovers today, we made several dips, little smokies and a cheeseball for dinner. I also made homemade butterscotch squares.  Of course, my Mom and I tried a new cocktail called peppermint white russian.

I still love to go on vacation the week of Thanksgiving but it was nice to stay home for a change.  Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving Eve

Mom and Dad made it from Oklahoma this afternoon. We are having a movie night tonight and Mom and I are enjoying a Snickers martini and they taste EXACTLY like a Snickers bar.

Enjoy the recipe for Snickers martini.

It's great to relax and enjoy some family time.

Dylan Made the SMNW Freshman Basketball Team

It's official! After three days of tryouts, Dylan made the freshman basketball team. We are so proud and I can not wait to cheer on the Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars.

Way to go Dylan!
