End of the Year Party

We decided to let Cass have an "End of the Year Party" since she will be moving on to middle school next year. She had 16 friends at her party and they had lots of fun. We had Guitar Hero battles, bean bag toss, mini basketball, volleyball and the trampoline. At the end of the night Michael let each one of them go on the zip line one at a time. They are actually too big for the zip line but they were dying to try it. The party was from 6-9pm and when the parents started arriving they all stood around because no one wanted to go home yet. I think the party was a success.

Finally, our bedroom is finished and we are not sleeping in the workout room anymore. It was worth all of the hard work and I am so glad it is finished.

Last Day of School

The kids are very excited that summer vacation is finally here. On the last day of school all of the students stand in the hallway clapping and cheering while the 6th graders in their yellow shirts take their final stroll through the building. Yes, I was a big baby and cried.

Do you think Dylan is a little excited that 2nd grade is over?

6th Grade Celebration/Talent Show

Today Cass received her 6th grade completion certificate. I can not believe our baby girl is going to middle school next year. It amazes me that our little miracle that weighed 1 lb. 12 oz. at her lowest is growing up so fast. Cass, we are extremely proud of you and how you are growing up to be a very sweet girl. Please stay that way through your teenage years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you!

Miracles do happen!!!!!!!!

Happy Memorial Day

We had a very busy weekend. Working on the bedroom took up most of the weekend but we took a few breaks for some fun. Saturday morning Michael and I went to City Market and the kids stayed home. It was a beautiful morning to just walk around and look at everything. We bought jalapenos and then came home. The primer was still wet in the bedroom so I decided to take the kids to a movie. We saw "The Night at the Museum" and it was pretty cute. Then it was back to work on the bedroom. Saturday night Michael grilled steaks, made stuffed jalapenos and I made twice baked potatoes. We sat on the deck for at least four hours. It was so relaxing. Sunday I painted the woodwork and then I took Cass shopping for a new outfit for the sixth grade awards ceremony. Today Michael finished painting the walls while I went to a movie with a couple of friends. We saw "Angels and Demons" and I really enjoyed it. Seeing Rome and the Vatican brought back memories of when I was in Italy. We ended our weekend with my in-laws coming over for dinner. Michael made delicious ribs and I made sour cream and chive potatoes, stuffed mushrooms and homemade chocolate cake. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Painting the bedroom

We have been working hard on taking down wallpaper and painting the bedroom walls and woodwork. The wallpaper was dark blue with little flowers.(It was there when we bought the house 6 years ago.) The walls are bahia green now and the woodwork is cottage white. You really can not tell much from the pictures but we are going to love it. Michael added a little extra to the doors and it made a huge difference.

2nd Grade Play

On Friday Dylan was in a play called "How the People Got Fire" and he was a frog. He only had two lines but he did great. After it was over he wanted to do it again. Dylan would be happy performing in front of people everyday. Good job Dylan. We are proud of you!!!!!

Ouch!!

Today Cass and Dylan needed to get some shots. Cass needed two for middle school and Dylan needed the 2nd chicken pox vaccination. I picked them up from school and did not tell them where we were going but Cass finally guessed it and they were not happy. After all of the pain, Granny and Grandpa took us out for Mexican food. That was a great way to end our "not so fun" day.

Happy Mother's Day

First of all, the patio is finished. This weekend for Mother's Day we went camping at Watkins Mill State Park with my in-laws. It was a very nice weekend because I did nothing but relax. The weather was cool so the campfires at night were very enjoyable. Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mom and mother-in-law. I am very lucky to have them both.

Cass and Dylan getting the trailer ready for camping.

I do not think that we were at the campground more than 5 minutes and Dylan was off on his bike.
