Last Weekend of September

Nothing compares to the excitement Cass had Saturday night but I do have some other pictures.

We went to the Powell Observatory in Louisburg.

Mason helped Dylan put out the Halloween decorations.  Actually, he is scared of some of them.

Tomorrow is treat day at work to celebrate the beginning of Fall.  I made pumpkin cream cheese breakfast rolls and.....

Michael and Dylan also participated in their first Timber Challenge and they both survived without any injuries.  Cass and Dylan do not have school tomorrow and I am so jealous. I can't believe it is the last weekend of September.

"Will You Go to Homecoming?"

When the doorbell rings at 10:30pm at night you wonder what on earth is going on!!  Michael answered and no one was there but he saw people in a truck in our driveway.  He asked "how can I help you?" and Cass's friend Katelyn said they wanted Cass and then Michael saw the sign that said HOMECOMING.  He ran inside and was yelling for Cass to come downstairs and yelling at me to get my camera.  I had no idea what the heck was going on.  What do you think Cass was doing at 10:30pm? Yep, she was sound asleep.  She is not a normal 17 year old. She walked outside to see her friend Katelyn with a sign and Lake with a big bouquet of flowers in the back of the truck.  I think she was in shock and half asleep but she said YES and now she is going to the Homecoming dance in 7 days!

Cass yelled at her father for not telling her to change her clothes or brush her hair before coming downstairs!!

The food was outstanding and I loved the salsa and margaritas. Thanks Chris and Kelly for going out to dinner at the last minute.

National Airline History Museum

Michael, Dylan and I went to the National Airline History Museum at the downtown airport. We were lucky to have Pete Barrett be our tour guide.

These were uniforms that the flight attendants wore in the 40's and 50's.  They hired nurses at first to make it appear safe to fly.

Here was their checklist before flying!

Pete giving us our tour.

We even got to go inside the planes.

Can you imagine sleeping in a bed on a plane??

Thanks Pete for a wonderful and informative tour.

Whoops!! Then Pete had a dead battery!

Pumpkin Facial and Spa Treatment

This morning I went to Ashley Nelson Studios and got a pumpkin facial, scalp massage, shoulder massage and foot treatment/massage from Lauren. She was spectacular!!!!!

Look at all the steam!  It was so relaxing.

She was nice enough to take some pictures during my spa day.  I highly recommend Lauren at Ashley Nelson Studios.  It was a perfect start to my day!!

Murder Mystery Dinner

Tonight we went to the Murder Mystery Dinner at the Tiffany Ballroom with our friends Stacey and Chris. The name of the show was "Till Death Do Us Part" and we were suppose to wear wedding attire.

Waiting for our chicken parmesan!

Michael and the detective

We totally sucked and picked the wrong person as the murderer and the motive and what killed the person.

Swirl Wine Bar

I had a wonderful time tonight spending the evening with my friend Sheila.  We went to the Swirl Wine Bar for the first time.

We each had a flight of wine.  The Swirl was so relaxing and decorated so cool.

I loved the couches!!

We were laughing in this picture so I thought I would post this one also.

We also had yummy snacks! I  have no idea what this was called but these were warm cheeses with different herbs.

The wine was on tap which is suppose to give you the freshest wine.

Then we stopped at Red X because Sheila had never been there.  That was an experience.

Thanks Sheila for a fun evening!  I can't wait for our next adventure.

Blue Man Group

My family bought me tickets to Blue Man Group back in August for my birthday and the show was tonight.

Who knew back in August when I got the tickets that I would be wearing gloves, long underwear and my winter coat on September 12.

Blue Man Group was not what I was expecting.  I actually expected a lot more.

Welding Project

I had no idea that a pile of nuts, bolts and washers could be turned into.......

 A weightlifting man!

He actually made two of them and took one to Crossfit to be their little mascot.

Michael is having a blast with his new hobby!

Chalk Art Festival

This afternoon we went to Crown Center to the Chalk Art Festival.

Characters from the movie "Frozen"

This fish looked really cool on the sidewalk.

My favorite chalk art

Then there was a man that looked like a statue and he had props for people to place on him.

This is what Dylan did to him.  The man did an amazing job and you could barely see him breathe or blink.

Then dinner at Don Chilito's.  It is NOT my favorite but Michael has been going there ever since he was a child so we took him there.  The place has been open since 1971.

Dylan took this picture in the car so he wanted me to post it.

Michael has been welding this afternoon and I can not wait to show you the final product.

I just took brownies out of the oven.  They are called Crazy Brownies because they have Reese's peanut butter cups, rolos and m&m's.

Harley-Davidson Factory

They both wanted a Harley today but we didn't come home with one.

There was a stunt show there today also.

Shoal Creek Living History Museum

Dinner tonight was a sausage cream cheese tortellini soup and now what I have been waiting for all week.....cocktail time. (sparkling bourbon lemonade)
