Weekend Happenings

Saturday morning Michael and Dylan woke up at 5:15am to go to THE GREAT WOLFF LODGE. They wanted to ride the water slide and participate in trying to break the Guinness World Record for the most miles on a water slide. We do not know if they helped accomplish the task. Then Michael and I went to a movie and we saw "Hot Tub Time Machine" and it brought back lots of memories of the 80's. I made spaghetti for dinner and Dylan had been begging to eat spaghetti tacos so I gave him a taco shell and he made spaghetti tacos. I was reading another blog today and her son made spaghetti tacos this weekend also. They got the idea from a TV show.

Dylan and his spaghetti taco!

Today I met my friend Cheryl for lunch and a little shopping. We were best friends when we were little and then I moved away in fourth grade. We always told each other that we would room together at Pittsburg State and guess what! We did!!!! We had a lot of catching up to do today because it had been about 3 years since we had seen each other. What a fun day! Thanks Cheryl for meeting me. I had a great time and I miss you lots!!!!

Friday Fun!

This is what I made and ate for breakfast this morning. It is called Doughnut Upside Down Cake. It does not look pretty but it was darn good.

Today we celebrated my friend Katie's birthday at work. I made Doughnut Upside Down Cake, Magic Cookie Bars and Salsa for her. I was tired of watching her drink her coffee out of a paper cup so I bought her an insulated mug. Happy Birthday Katie!!!!
YUMMY!

This afternoon we met my friend Sheila and her grandkids at the movies. We saw "How to Train Your Dragon" in 3-D. What fun! Thanks Sheila, Madison, and Alex for seeing the movie with us!

WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?

Why did we have to get 9 inches of snow? Why did the Jayhawks lose?

Why do mini maple chocolate chip pancake muffins taste so good??

Why can an egg balance on end on the first day of spring?

Spring Break (Thursday/Friday)

Cass had a mole removed off of her back on Thursday morning and she was not very excited about the procedure but it needed to be done.

The mole is gone and she survived!!!!

Then it was basketball, basketball and more basketball! I sat in my chair for hours watching all of the games. Of course we were cheering for our Jayhawks and during the second half Dylan lifted his shirt up and started yelling "Go KU". Now I know what he was doing during halftime.

This morning I took the kids to go see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". It was a cute movie and Dylan LOVED it! When we got home I made M & M oatmeal cookies and then it was time to watch basketball and more basketball. Cass and Dylan took a little break from watching the games and played a little game of PIG outside.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Our St. Patrick's Day consisted of eating cinnamon rolls with green icing, making sugar cookies with green frosting and listening to Irish music during dinner.

This afternoon I made myself clean out a closet that was in horrible shape. It is starting to look a little better.

There is some improvement!

Around 6:30pm Michael moved the furniture around in the family room and told us to go get our workout clothes on. We were not thrilled but we did it anyway. The four of us did a turbo kick video and actually had lots of fun! I am going to be sore tomorrow!

Spring Break (Tuesday)

Today all of my family went back home so it is pretty quiet around here. Tonight Michael and I met our friends Tara and Mitch in Ottawa for dinner. Tara was one of my college roommates and is one of my dearest friends. Tara and Mitch live in Arizona so we do not see each other very often but when we get together it is like we have never been apart! I miss them sooooooo much!!

Spring Break (Monday)

The morning started off by me taking Cass to the dermatologist and then my sister and Keeley met us at Starbucks after the appointment. My sister had plans to go visit some of her friends and Keeley said "I am not going with you! I am staying with Aunt Cole, right Aunt Cole?" I was so excited that she wanted to stay with me. We cuddled up with our drinks and watched a movie.

I took Cass, Dylan and Keeley to Chick-fill-a for lunch and then Keeley played on the play equipment.

After dinner we went swimming at Matt Ross Community Center.

Keeley said "Aunt Cole can we go get ice cream prease!!!!!" I could not say no to that!

Good Start to our Spring Break

Yea, it is Spring Break! Friday night my sister, Keeley and mom and dad got to our house around 7:30pm. Everyone was tired so Keeley and I put on our pajamas and read books.

The girls went shopping at the mall Saturday morning and Keeley and Cass rode the carousel and then Keeley played in the play area!

Keeley sharing her donut with Aunt Nicole.

After a long day of shopping Keeley was exhausted!

We cheered for our favorite team Saturday night with lots of yummy foods. We had little smokies, meatballs, cheeseball, corn dip, salsa, brownies and a KU cookie cake.

This morning Keeley helped make Uncle Mike an omelet.

Mom and dad left this morning and left my sister and Keeley with us for a couple more days! They will be leaving Tuesday morning. We took a trip to Walmart, made chocolate chip cookies and then we had a very lazy day!

Tonight we just cuddled up and watched TV.

Happy Birthday Cass Marie!

We have a teenager in the house! I took her out for donuts before school today and we even invited Dylan to join us.

Cass did not want a birthday cake but she wanted me to make M&M cream cheese dip so I had it waiting for her when she got home from school.

Cass got an IPOD dock that is also a clock radio, I-tunes card, Aeropostle clothes, camera and a new IPOD cover.

We went to Cheddar's for dinner and Cass said she was about to explode!

Happy Birthday Cass! We are so proud of you and we love you more than anything!
