Camping Trip with a Big Surprise and Happy Easter

We arrived at Basswood Resort Friday evening just in time to order a pizza and have it delivered to the campsite!

Saturday morning we attended our first Easter Parade and here are a few things we saw.

The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxing with some fishing and walks around the pond.

Michael made Cass hold the fishing pole and 30 seconds later she caught a small fish and then she was done.

Something you do not see very often.

The campground host dropped by and delivered Mickey and Minnie bubbles to Cass and Dylan and said "I think you are getting ready to get a big surprise."

When they turned around there was a cookie cake. They opened the box and Dylan started to smile and Cass just stood there giving me a look. She thought we were just playing a joke on her.

SURPRISE!!

Later that afternoon Cass and I put a Mickey Mouse puzzle together.

Then the four of us watched our Disney Vacation Planning DVD. I think they finally realize that we are actually going and this is not a joke.

This morning Dylan and his new friend Trinity had an egg hunt.

Dylan also had a marshmallow fight with our camping neighbors.

Michael and Dylan caught eight catfish so this was our Easter dinner.

Happy Easter!

We also had loaded mashed potato casserole (without the nutmeg).

Asiago Foccacia Bread

We had a very memorable camping trip and a wonderful Easter.

Relaxing Weekend

Michael went to Texas this weekend with Uncle Robert and my dad so Cass, Dylan and I stayed home and played (and we were lazy also). Friday night we saw the movie RIO and I was a little disappointed in it. Saturday I got up and went to my 7:30am water aerobics class and when I got home Dylan was still sound asleep. I told him whenever he decided to get up that I would take him to Krispy Kreme Donuts and he jumped right out of bed. Of course we made a stop at Starbucks for me but then we came home and enjoyed a nice quiet morning. Around 1:30 we left the house and went to another movie called SOUL SURFER. I enjoyed this movie and the kids liked it better than RIO. Today Dylan had a basketball game and they won by 20 points. Dylan even made a 3 point shot that he is very excited about. Today I tried two new dessert recipes and one drink recipe. Enjoy!!

Here I am enjoying my new favorite drink (Orange Mojito) on my favorite swing on the deck.

Cass and Dylan actually enjoying the trampoline together.
Why does the weekend have to go by so fast???

Sweet and Sweat

Yes, I made something sweet today and I am sure no one is surprised!

We were all pretty sweaty this afternoon. Dylan played two games back to back and he definitely worked up a sweat. We just sat and watched but it was so hot in the gym that you could hardly breathe. They won both games and now Dylan is shooting hoops outside.

He made this free throw but we will not talk about how many he missed!

KC Smoke Burgers

Tonight was our monthly date with Ann and Ricky and we ate at KC Smoke Burgers.

Ricky and Michael

They brought our hamburgers on little smokers. Great presentation!

I am so glad they helped get the hamburger off the smoker and onto the bun because I was wondering how I was going to do it.

I loved that the bun had their initials on it!
Another fun night with friends and looking forward to next month.

Survived the Week

What a crazy week!! I am so glad it is Friday! Tonight my friend Katie and I went to Oak Park Mall and did a little shopping.

Katie got suckered into buying this special file that shines her nails! Actually, it was a good purchase because she will use it.
The nice man showing her how to use the special file.

Then I took her out to eat to Houlihan's for her birthday and we had a few delicious drinks. What a great way to end a crazy week!

My two favorite recipes this week.

Toffee Crunch Dip (yummy with apples)

Cinnamon Roll Cake! I loved this!!!
I have had several new followers to my blog wanting my recipes. If you see something highlighted just click on it and it will give you the recipe or a website. Also if you would like to see a picture larger just click on it. Enjoy!

Spending Time with the Family

Dylan and I enjoyed our day off on Friday. We went to a movie and saw HOP. The elementary schools were out so the movie theater was packed.

We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the beautiful weather. We played a lot of basketball and had several games of "PIG", played catch, sat in my swing on the deck and enjoyed the smells of cooking outside.

Tonight we had our delicious stuffed jalapenos!

Scrumptious ribs

I also made Double Chocolate Coffee Toffee Cookies for dessert. Now I am waiting for the thunderstorm to hit. I love spring!!!
