Pilates on the Megaformer Machine

Kelly is going to stop trusting me on all of these new fitness classes I keep signing us up for. We did pilates at the Body Lab on a machine called the megaformer this morning. We actually almost walked out before class even started because it looked scary.

We survived but I seriously don't know how I am going to walk tomorrow because I could barely drive home.

Megaformer

I think it is a torture machine but they don't want to advertise that.

Thanks Kelly once again for trying something new.

Dinner and Drinks at Cellar and Loft

Michael and I were not at home this week so the poor children had to take care of themselves.  I had a training in Atlanta and Michael had a training in Portland.  Since the children were to busy to spend time with us tonight we decided to have a little date night at Cellar and Loft

The cellar was kind of cool with lots of wine and beer. They even have a place for members to keep their own wine.

We did NOT become a member.  By the way, their pizza was really good.

Team Building in Atlanta, Georgia

I had to go to Atlanta, Georgia for a training but we had a little fun one evening after hours. We went to the World of Coca-Cola.  Here are some pictures from the self-guided tour.

That is me in a bottle of bubbles.

This is where the secret recipe for Coke is kept.

Bottles from around the world

Tasting room

Everyone gets a free bottle when you leave.

Then we had dinner at The Varsity a diner since 1928.  They yell "What'll ya have" right when you walk in.

Dessert at Rit's Italian Ice was a first also!

We had a good training and some fun times but I am glad to be home!

Homemade Pastrami

Michael has been working on making homemade pastrami for a week.  It brined for one week in this container.

This is what it looked like when he took it out of the brine.

Next step was to smoke it until 160 degrees and then refrigerate for a day.

Today he had to steam it for four hours in this little contraption he made.

I am not a pastrami fan but I LOVED it!!

We had a pastrami sandwich, coleslaw and potato salad for our Father's Day dinner.

Happy Father's Day

We took Michael out to the Big Biscuit for his Father's Day breakfast.  Then he came home and opened a couple of presents.  He got a new thermoworks meat thermometer and a Bose portable bluetooth speaker.

A little family pic.  Thanks Michael for being such an outstanding Dad and encouraging our children to step out of their box and enjoy life.

Then we ate Michael's homemade pastrami for dinner.  It was so good!!!

I would also like to say Happy Father's Day to my absolutely wonderful Dad.  Thanks for being such a wonderful dad and Grandpa.

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, Dad, father-in-law and all the other great dads I know!!

KC Wine Co. Winery/Stone Pillar Winery and La Fuente Restaurant

In between our three basketball games today we had time to go to two wineries and out to dinner with friends.

Our first stop was KC Wine Co. winery.

The inside would be a nice place to cater an event.

A picture right in front of the grapevines.

They actually had grapes on the grapevines.

KC Wine Co. was a nice little winery.

I even loved the tables.

The Prairie Rose wine was my favorite.

Then we went to Stone Pillar Winery and we were not impressed with their set up.

Wine taster crossing!

Alysha and I having fun around the grapevines.

And more fun!

We were starving after our wine tastings so we ate dinner at La Fuente.

What a great Saturday with friends!  Now off to the last basketball game of the day and two more games tomorrow.

National Martini Day and BBQ

Since today is National Martini Day, I made Michael take me to The Drop Bistro for a martini.

Then we went to Q39 for some barbecue and I had another martini but I have never had it served like this.  The food and the martini were scrumptious!!

Happy National Martini Day!!

Pole Fitness Class

Tonight was our pole fitness class and I think we all agree that we will never try to attempt that again.     Here are the nice poles we used.

At least we all got a good laugh tonight!! Some of us already have bruises and scrapes for just trying to look graceful!

POUND...Aerobics Class Using Drumsticks

Tonight we tried a new class called POUND which is an aerobics class using drumsticks.  Usually I can only talk Kelly into trying crazy things but this time Kasey and Stacie joined in on the fun.

Here are the drumsticks.

We survived!!  It was a great workout and the instructor was awesome.

I really hope I can get out of bed tomorrow.

Happy 3rd Birthday Mason

For someone who is not an animal lover, I sure do adore this darn dog. Today is his third birthday so I bought him an ice cream cone and cupcake dog treat and a new toy.

Happy Birthday to my favorite dog ever!!!
