Chicago Weekend

Michael and I went to Chicago for the weekend without the children and they were not happy because they love Chicago.  Friday night we went to the RedHead Piano Bar and had so much fun.  Saturday morning we headed to the Field Museum to see Sue which is the largest most complete T-Rex dinosaur.

It was pretty cold but we still wanted to walk up and down Michigan Ave.  Michael enjoyed Marilyn Monroe!  I am sure he is not the only one who has looked up her dress.

Then we went to Vertigo Sky Lounge.  It is a roof-top bar and they have fur blankets for you when it is cold outside.

On Sunday our friends Katie and Danny picked us up at our hotel. (We stayed at the Hotel Felix)  Michael wanted to go to the Wieners Circle to get a hot dog.  They have a reality show and they are verbally abusive to the customers but on a Sunday around lunch they were not as bad.

We also enjoyed a tour of Goose Island Brewing Co.

The taste testing was the best part of the tour.

What a wonderful weekend in Chicago!   Thank you Katie and Danny for spending your whole Sunday with us.  

Fun Times with Ann

Yep, that is me driving a police car.  Well, maybe I was pretending to drive but it was sure fun! Today at work the kids were able to take a little field trip outside and sit in a police car but Ann and I had a little fun before they did!

Then they put us in the back and it was not as much fun!

Hopefully this was the first and last time to be in the back of a police car.

Then after work Ann and I went to our first Zumba class which was definitely an experience!!  Sorry no pictures!

Relaxing Saturday!

We had a Saturday with no basketball games and the only plans we had was date night with Ann and Ricky.

Cass made us pineapple coconut smoothies for lunch today!

This month for date night Ricky made us absolutely delicious hamburger pizza.  It LOVED it!!  Ann made a yummy appetizer that she made out of pizza dough.  For dessert, Ann made lemon meringue pie and I made chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream bars.

Next month is so busy but we are going to try to have our May date anyway!

Science City-Take Two

I remembered my wallet this time so Dylan and I had a great day at Science City.

Cass got out of school early today so when she got home we made chocolate chip cookie dough peanut butter cups.  

Movie Club Madness

Well, when we started movie club we promised to choose a variety of movies but we are never choosing a scary movie again. 1,2,3 yes you counted right! Three of us from work were dedicated enough to movie club to go see "Cabin in the Woods" even though we did not want to see it!!

Cooking Day

Michael and I have been cooking all day! This morning I made cinnamon and sugar swirled pancake muffins with a browned butter maple syrup.  YUMMY!

Michael smoked two chickens today and we will eat them for lunch this week.  For dinner tonight he grilled beer marinated chicken thighs and I made sea salt and malt vinegar baby potatoes.  I also made a chipolte steak marinade and Michael grilled steaks also but they are for tomorrow night.  I even had time to make chocolate no-bake cookies.

I also have other recipes to share.  Cass made a creamy crockpot spaghetti a few weeks ago and it was really good.  That night I also made coconut crushers and Kelly took a big sip of tequila.  SORRY!

Other recipes you might enjoy are red brie sauce for pasta, reeses pieces cake bars and peanut butter cream filled cookie cups.  Enjoy!!!

Girls Weekend Cancelled

I was a little sad when I had to cancel my girls weekend with my mom and sister but I am thankful that I am not in Oklahoma with all of the tornadoes.  A tornado touched down in Norman last night so I am glad I missed it.

Cass was nice and got up and made oatmeal chocolate chip bread for breakfast. She added a little more chocolate chips since she did not add walnuts.  It was really good.

Dylan had a basketball game this afternoon and his team won by two points.

After the game we went to Fogones for authentic mexican food.  I still love my tex-mex.

Easter Fun

This morning mom and dad took us to Big Biscuit for breakfast before the egg hunt.  The Big Biscuit is a great place for breakfast!!!

Then we came home for the egg hunt!  Dylan also found a Celtics hat on top of the shed.

Dylan also got a mini frisbee golf game and of course he beat me.

Then my friends Katie and Danny stopped by for a few hours.  It was so nice to sit on the new deck and enjoy the fire pit.  The time flew by but I at least I got to see them for a little while.  Hopefully next time they can stay longer.
