National Cheeseburger Day

We tried a new recipe tonight. Michael made beer can bacon cheeseburgers and they were yummy! We stuffed them with grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese and Michael made sauce to put on top of them.

Happy National Cheeseburger Day!!

Atchison, St. Joe, Weston and a Beautiful Wedding

I had so much fun spending the day with my boys before Cass joined us for the Nichols wedding.

We made a stop in Atchison to visit the Amelia Earhart birthplace.

Then we stopped in St. Joe to see the "McDonald's of the Future".

Inside of McDonald's...it really was not much different than now.

Michael and I dropped Dylan off at the St. George Hotel so he could rest before the wedding. Then we took a distillery tour at Holladay Distillery home of McCormick Distilling Company. It is the oldest distillery west of the Mississippi River. It was a great tour.

Limestone spring water used to make bourbon

It is located outside of Weston and it was so pretty.

Dylan riding in the limo with the girls to the Weston Red Barn Farm.

The limo came back to pick us up also.

Our first limo ride!

I have never seen such a handsome ring bearer ever!

Love his Ring Security shirt!

Dylan with the flower girls

The wedding was outside and the reception was in the barn. It was so beautiful.

Grinter's Sunflower Farm

What a beautiful day to walk through the sunflower fields at Grinter's Sunflower Farm (well, it could have been a little cooler). Blue sky and and beautiful big sunflowers all over the place was actually quite peaceful.

I was so happy that Ann was in town and wanted to take a little road trip.

The sunflowers were amazing.

Someone had a little fun with a few of the sunflowers.

Thanks Ann for spending the day with me on my day off!

A Fun Labor Day Weekend in Gulf Shores, Alabama

We had a great time in Gulf Shores, Alabama with Sheila and Pete. Sheila and Pete did not get in until late Friday night so we did a little exploring ourselves.

Gulf Shores

Love those kids!!

We had dinner at The Hangout

and drinks!!

After dinner we walked to Souvenir City. It has been open since 1936.

Fun times with friends!

Pete loving the waves!

We thought a wave was going to drown us but it didn't.

Dylan and Michael tried something called Fly Boarding.

At night we walked on the beach with flashlights to watch and catch the little crabs running on the beach.  While we were walking we found this cool sandcastle.

Dylan had fun catching those little things!

Sunday we actually relaxed and did a little shopping since it was raining. Then Pete and Michael went out and rode wave runners .

Cass, Dylan, Sheila and I went to Gulf Shores State Park and walked on the beach looking for turtle eggs.

It was so pretty.

It was great to spend time with my friend!

A storm off in the distance.

Sheila found some pieces of turtle eggs.

Then we had some pool time.

Dylan enjoyed riding the boogie board.

It was raining a little when we went on the dolphin cruise but we got to see dolphins!

We were wet and cold but still having a good time!

Another beautiful sunset!

On the way home we made a quick stop in New Orleans to eat lunch in the French Quarter.

It is amazing how fast a weekend can go when you are having fun!!
