Mother/Son Night with Bocce Ball and Pizza

Lorie and I had a wonderful night with our teenage sons.  We played two games of bocce ball and the moms won both games.  They said it was cooler to hang out with the dads because we always win. SORRY!!!

We went to Grimaldi's for pizza and it was so good.  I loved that the only lightning came from light bulbs in wine bottles.

Then we took the boys to Decadent for dessert.

On the way home we jammed to "Don't Stop Believing" and "Sweet Caroline".  What a great night!

A Nice Sunday Evening with Friends

Tonight was a beautiful evening to have a BBQ with friends. Michael made amazing smoked chicken, bacon wrapped asparagus and I made Duck Dynasty mashed potatoes, Oreo crust brownie pie with cream cheese frosting and Kelly and I had pink lemonade margaritas.

Chris and Dylan always find time to play a little basketball!!

Dylan's Step Stool

We are so proud of Dylan and all of his hard work that went into making his wooden step stool.

Dylan is starting to take after his father in his wood working abilities.

I can't wait to try it out.

Another Fun Mother/Daughter Dinner

We had our mother/daughter dinner at Zio's Italian Kitchen tonight and it was delicious. Kylie was too busy coloring to look up for a picture.

Of course the girls wanted to go out for ice cream at Sylas and Maddy's also.

First Royals Game of the Season

After Dylan's early morning basketball game we decided to go to the Royals game before his evening game.

Kauffman Stadium has some new food options.  This is called the champions burger which is a tempura-battered cheddar stuffed bacon burger with sweet slaw and chipotle ketchup and a pretzel bun.

It was Sluggerr's birthday today and some of his mascot friends came to celebrate.

KC Premiere Basketball

We are so proud of Dylan. He tried out for the Kansas City Premiere basketball team and made the spring team. We got to enjoy our first tournament already this weekend.

Royals Opening Day

We have been waiting for months but it's finally Opening Day. Go Royals!!

A Field Trip to Downtown Kansas City

We took a field trip to downtown KC with Alysha and Adam and took a tour of Tom's Town Distillery.  Their motto was on the outside of their building.

The tour was a lot of fun and the beverages were delicious.

Then we walked to KC Wineworks Winery which opened yesterday to sample their wines.  After the winery we walked to The Brick (which Michael and I were just there last night) to eat some hamburgers.

I love our spur of the moment stops...today was the Green Lady Lounge (a Kansas City Jazz lounge). By looking at the outside I would never had gone in but  I am so glad we did because it was so cool inside.

When Michael and I got home, Dylan was standing in the kitchen holding a two layer chocolate cake that he had made. This morning he was downstairs in the workshop making a wooden frame for our Royals picture and this afternoon he was in the kitchen making a cake. Great life skills!!!
