New Mailbox, New Donut Shop, New Recipes

Thank you to the person who hit our ugly mailbox that had no flag and faded numbers.

Because now I have one that actually looks decent. (Thanks to Michael for building a nice stand for it.)

We tried a new donut shop yesterday that was extremely expensive. Dylan eating the biggest long john I have ever seen.

Cass enjoying her Reese's Pieces donut.

Sorry to all my friends who hate clowns. I just had to buy him and the donut kabobs.

Four days of work this week and then off to the Lake of the Ozarks.

Family Fun and Recipes

Cass wanted to go to Walmart at midnight on Friday to get the movie "Hunger Games".  I knew we could buy one the next day but we decided to go at midnight anyway.

Michael and Dylan thrilled to be at Walmart at midnight.  Then Dylan saw they had "Hunger Games" cupcakes so he was happier.

We got it! Then Saturday we watched the movie for family movie night.

We had a visitor also this weekend.  It had webbed feet but we are not sure what it was. (Yes, we gave it a bowl of water)

Here are some of my favorite recipes from the week.  I made cinnamon streusel baked donuts and the kids loved them.

I also made cinnamon roll chex mix, portabello pizza, cinnamon sugar bread, chicken shawarma, breakfast sausage gravy with black pepper buttermilk biscuits.  Try some of these recipes!!!

Today Dylan had his first day of sixth grade and that means this is his last year of elementary school.

Dylan and Mrs. Newell

Some of my friends decided to celebrate the first day of school by going to the movies.  We saw "The Campaign" and I loved it. ( Vicki's husband was nice enough to take our picture)

Tomorrow Cass has her first day of school!

Birthday Fun

I have had a great birthday. Thank you for all of the birthday wishes on facebook and texts.  Michael made reservations four months ago to take a tour of the Boulevard Brewery.  My friends Ann and Sheila went also but Ann left early and missed the beer tasting.

We each got four samples.

What a fun time!

Then this afternoon I got to go to Helzberg Diamonds to pick out the diamond hoop earrings I wanted. (then I knew for sure that I would get the right ones)

Michael also got me a new Pitt State football shirt when he drove through Pittsburg the other day.  Thanks honey!!  Tonight my family took me to Frontera's for mexican food and now it is movie time.

Thanks for a great birthday!!

Great Time With My Sister and Niece

Here are some pictures of the four wonderful days I had with my sister and Keeley.

Keeley lost her first tooth the first night she was here.  I am so happy she waited till she got to Kansas City to loose it.

Keeley asked "Aunt Cole can we go out for ice cream?"  and apparently Cass asked "Auntie M can we go out for ice cream?".  I think they were working together and they got what they wanted.

I wish that I could have taken the week off but we still had lots of fun in the evenings.  Already miss you guys!!  Come back soon!!

Lego Land

YAY, my sister and Keeley are staying with us for a few days so today we went to LegoLand.

LegoLand

Keeley and Dylan

Lego Land has a ride that you shoot the bad guys to save the princess.

My sister and Cass were really into it!!

Keeley pushed the earthquake button and the tower fell.

Then we came home and ate grilled chicken and twice baked potatoes and drank some lime-a-ritas.

I made a M and M cookie pie with frosting because I know how much my sister and Keeley love them.

I also made homemade snicker bars but they really do not taste like a Snickers.  Now we are going to relax and watch some Olympics.

Bingo and Burgers

Tonight we went to Hamburger Mary's to eat dinner and play bingo. Hamburger Mary's is for adults only and it was so much fun.  Our friends Betty and Tony met us there to experience the fun also.

Our wonderful drag queen who called the numbers for bingo.

Tony won!!!

I made Betty get in the picture with me and our great bingo caller.

After a enjoyable evening playing bingo we walked to Snow and Company to get a frozen adult beverage.

What a great night and thanks Betty and Tony for hanging out with us!!
