Crossfit Competition

Michael was in his first crossfit competition and he loved it. This is a picture of his team.

The four of them had to pull a van 100 feet and the darn thing weighed 7000 pounds.  They also had to run a mile, swim, do the rowing machine, wall balls, burpees and deadlifts.

The goal was not to throw up and not to get last place.  They got 26th out of 35 teams and they also won the "team spirit award" and no one threw up.

Good job honey! We are very proud of you!

Ready for the Weekend

Grandma and Grandpa are here for the weekend.  They took Dylan and I out for dinner at Johnny's Tavern.

Here is Grandma trying to play PacMan.  "What button do I push and which one am I??" It took her three lives before she realized what she was supposed to do.

Tomorrow is a big day!  Michael is in a Crossfit competition and Grandma, Cass and I will be going to see Cher and Cyndi Lauper in concert.

Road Trip......

We left town Friday afternoon and stopped at Bobo's Drive-in to get the best hamburgers around.  Then we drove to Wichita and spent the night with Uncle Robert and Aunt Janice.  We went out for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery.

We got up Saturday morning and ate breakfast at the Donut Whole in Wichita and then headed out of town.

We took a five minute break so we could take a photo at the Hot and Cold water towers in Pratt, Kansas.

Then we went to the World's Largest Hand Dug Well in Greensburg, Kansas.

We all climbed to the bottom.

I see water!

A man (we actually met him) used scrap metal to make all of this artwork along side the road.  This picture doesn't do it justice.

We made it to Dodge City, Kansas and we stayed at the Dodge House Hotel.

On our way to the Sante Fe Trail Tracks we stopped and looked at some buffalo.

It wasn't that impressive!

Don't step on the cactus Dylan!

On the way back into Dodge City we stopped at the Dodge City sign and took pictures.

A radio station in Kansas City keeps playing this phrase "Have you ever been to Dodge City, Ks?  Have you ever seen a grown man naked?"(it's a long story)  so after the boys were on the radio Friday the radio hosts wanted a picture of them in Dodge City so here it is......

Dylan got a kiss from a Can-Can girl.

He was pretty happy the rest of the night!

Variety Show and of course Michael got pulled onto the stage.

The guy was telling Dylan that he needed to grow a mustache.

On the way home today we stopped in Kinsley, Ks to stand at the point that New York and San Francisco were the same distance from us.

We also ate lunch at the Cozy Inn and they have been serving burgers since 1922.  Bobo's Drive is still the best burgers around!

Now we are waiting for Michael to grill steak/spinach/harvati cheese pinwheels, bacon wrapped asparagus, sauteed mushrooms and Cass made us chex scotcharoos for dessert.

Post Workout Snack

Really?? Why can't I have their metabolism? Cass and her friend Lili worked out with me this afternoon and then made homemade funfetti cupcakes.

The girls made the cupcakes and Dylan frosted all of them.

He did a spectacular job frosting them! Cass learned a lesson today that powdered sugar works a lot better than regular sugar when making frosting.

Royals Game

It was a beautiful night for a baseball game.  We did a little tailgating before the game and had delicious ribs that Michael had smoked all day.

We also went to the Royals Hall of Fame.
