New Year's Eve 2013

This year we have had a very quiet New Year's Eve.  Dylan won big at Blackjack!!

We have enjoyed hot wings, spinach dip and puppy chow tonight.

We were going to go to a movie but we decided to rent one instead.

Mason went in his kennel at 10:30.  He was ready for bed!

Cass is listening to music and trying to stay awake.  Maybe next year we will actually go do something exciting!

Happy New Year!  Goodbye 2013 and Hello 2014!

A Trip to Wichita

Today we drove down to Wichita and ate lunch with Granny (Great Granny to the kiddos).  She was happy to see everyone.  She got to eat lunch with her son(Robert) and 2 out of 5 grandchildren(Michael and Carolyn) and 6 out of 7 great grandchildren(Cass, Dylan, Colton, Skylar, Rebecca and Emily).  I think she enjoyed her day!!  It was great seeing Uncle Robert and Aunt Janice also.

Dylan Made Us Dinner

Auntie "M" and Uncle Frankie got Dylan a hot dog roller for Christmas so he made us dinner tonight!

He had been asking for one for at least six months.

It even has a bun warmer!!

Thanks Dylan for cooking dinner tonight!

He also got a cotton candy machine for Christmas so guess what we are having for dessert.  There is no reason we ever need to go to a carnival again especially since he also owns a popcorn machine and a snow cone machine.

Merry Christmas

Last night we spent Christmas Eve at my in-laws house and had a very nice time.

I love it when Dylan wants to wear a tie!

Santa left Dylan a compound bow and arrow and target.

He left Cass a pair of UGG boots.

Before the mess

Before the kids were allowed downstairs:)

Mason enjoying his new toy.

"I smell treats!"

THE MESS!!!!

Dylan loved his gift and he has been practicing all afternoon.

Good form!

Cass in her new sweater, scarf and boots.

For Christmas dinner, Michael cooked prime rib that was absolutely delicious!  We also had cheesy mashed potatoes, rolls and for dessert we had homemade brownies and peppermint stick ice cream.

Grandpa, Marge and Aunt Ann came over for our Christmas dinner.

Mason LOVED his prime rib bone!

After dinner Cass gave Mason a bath and we put his new pajamas on him. (he did not like them)

Now it is time for a nice treat in my new Pitt State glass.  Michael bought this yummy beverage and glass for me. (Don't worry he bought me other stuff) When we sampled this at the Maker's Mark Distillery, I thought it was really good.  Michael told me it was good but he wasn't going to spend that kind of money on whiskey.  He must love me and of course he gets to drink some also. Maker's 46 is aged a little longer inside barrels containing seared French oak. Sometimes you can learn something by reading my blog:)

Merry Christmas to all my family and friends!!

Two Sleeps Till Christmas

I love winter break and it was so nice to wake up without an alarm. (even though I was awake at 7:30am)  The first thing we did was make sugar cookies this morning.

I am not sure the three of us even brushed our hair.

After the cookies were baked and frosted, Cass helped with the peanut butter balls.

Tonight this is what our thermometer says....

and Michael is still passing out candy canes to everyone watching the light show.

This is not smoke!  It is our breath with the lovely Christmas lights in the background.

Michael takes a little break in the garage to get warmed up by the heater.

At one time we had nine cars down our little street.

Merry Christmas

I felt guilty so I went outside for a little while but Mason and Cass did not care.  They cuddled on the couch and watched a Hallmark movie.

Then I had to go out on a candy cane run!!

Two more sleeps!!

Christmas With My Parents

Since Mom and Dad were coming up Friday afternoon, Dylan and I went to a movie and saw THE HOBBIT in the morning. Then I took Dad shopping and met up with the rest of the family for dinner at Saints Pub. It was soooo good!!

We had a fun weekend!  Grandpa and Grandma got to see Dylan play basketball in a tournament and t they got third place.  A game of Sorry was going on while Mom and I were cooking dinner and wrapping presents Saturday night.

Wrapping presents!!

Chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes and dinner rolls for dinner!!

We woke up this morning to open our presents and we got to enjoy a white Christmas :)

Mason loved the treats from Grandpa and Grandma.

Then he tried to help Grandpa open presents.

Opening presents

Grandma got to open a special present that was from The Arnott family, The Parks family and Dad. We got her a Keurig Coffee maker.  She loved it and was totally surprised.

Mason was worn out with all of that fun!

Mom and Dad left this afternoon so they could go to Oklahoma to spend Christmas with my sister.  Thanks Mom and Dad for all of our gifts.

Baby Griffin

I am so happy that I FINALLY got to meet Griffin today and visit with his mommy and daddy(Katie and Danny). Griffin was born a month ago and I am just now meeting him. He is so darn adorable and I didn't want to leave. I can't wait to snuggle with him some more over winter break.

Can we bring him home for awhile??

Griffin, sorry that mommy won't share the cookie dough truffles with you. I will make you truffles someday!!

Great New Mexican Restaurant

We love to go out for mexican food with my in-laws so we decided to go to a brand new restaurant. It is called Los Tres Compadres and it was outstanding. They do not have a website but I still highlighted it so everyone could get the address.

This is what Cass and I got for dinner and it was so delicious!!

They did a great job on presentation also.

Now I am stuffed!!
