Duck Dynasty

Cass and Dylan are sporting their new "Duck Dynasty" t-shirts.  It is one of the sillest shows I have ever seen.

"Si is my role model" t-shirt

Thanks Sister for making my family watch this stupid (but funny) show.

Dylan The Artist

Today we went to the Shawnee Mission Art Show because there was something special to see. Dylan with 9 other Benninghoven sixth graders were selected to have their ceramic 3-d art displayed at the art show. Benninghoven has 93 sixth graders so we are pretty proud.

Good job Dylan!

I love it!

Sporting KC

What a fun night!! Mitchell and Nick came over for dinner before the soccer game. We had ribs, potato salad, pasta salad, jalapeno popper bread and vanilla sea salt chocolate chip cookies. (I made homemade vanilla sea salt for the cookies)  We also had white wine citrus sangria.

It is a really nice facility!

We ended up getting our seats upgraded and they were really close!

GO SPORTING KC!!

Dylan and Michael with BLUE

I am so sad this picture was blurry.  Mitchell and Nick spending the evening with the Arnott family.

It was a little chilly (55 degrees) but we had a really fun evening! Oh, and they lost by one goal,

Our Weekend

It has been a nice weekend with nothing much going on. Friday night I took my boys to see "42" and it was a really good movie. Saturday consisted of NOTHING!!

Today Mason decided to watch some TV and take a nap.

Dylan is on a new basketball team called the Eagles and he got to keep his #52. Today he had two games and he won by 30 points the first game and lost by 30 in the second.

We went out to dinner tonight since Cass had the evening off from work.  We ate at Amigos and it was delicious!!  Here is Dylan trying the salsa made with a ghost pepper and he thought it was no big deal.

Until he swallowed!!  It was just a little hot.

Yummy dinner!!

I went a little crazy in the kitchen so here are some recipes that I will definitely be keeping.

Paintball

Thank goodness the boys tried paintball first because now I know that I never want to try it.  Michael and Dylan each got to invite a friend for this dangerous experience.  They came home with welts on their arms and legs but they said they had fun.

Michael, Dylan, Joshua and Chris took the picture

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the Groupon to Jaegers Paintball.

Jurassic Park in 3D at Union Station

Last night Dylan got to hang out with his buddy Alysha. We went to Union Station to the Extreme Screen and saw Jurassic Park in 3D. Dylan thinks we need to own the movie now. Thanks Alysha and Joe(he took our picture) for going to the movies with us.

Here are some of my favorite recipes that I have tried in the last few weeks:  orange juice cake, cinnamon roll breakfast cakecheese and chive scrambled eggs, loaded potato and buffalo chicken casserole(thanks Stacey for the recipe) and chicken and cheese quesadilla pie.  Enjoy!!

Cass and Ben

Cass is taking Child Development and she had to bring Ben the Baby home with her last night. Ben cried every time he needed to be fed, changed or burped.

Cass and Ben

Ben was crying and he wanted to be burped.

Cass didn't get to sleep until 11pm (she normally goes to bed between 9-9:30 because she is NOT a normal teenager) and Ben slept for fours then up again.  Cass was a little tired today. This gave us a lot of opportunities to talk about having a baby and the responsibilities that come with it. Cass said she likes her sleep and she wants to wait until she is 29 before having a baby. Let's hope that there was a lesson learned here:)

Happy 100th Birthday Granny!

We spent the weekend in Wichita to celebrate Michael's Granny's 100th Birthday!

This was Mason's first long road trip.  It was actually like traveling with a toddler.

Saturday we went to lunch at Big B's Beef.  It was a little hole in the wall place but had Italian Beef sandwiches just like the ones in Chicago.  They were really good!

Mason and Buster got along great.  Mason could walk right underneath Buster.

Today was Granny's birthday party. I loved her cake!

After the party the kids and Granny let the balloons go.

This is the first picture of Granny and all five of her grandchildren.

Happy 100th Birthday Granny!  It is not very often that you get to celebrate someone turning 100.
