Chubby at Knuckleheads

Last night we went to Knuckleheads to see Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band and did not get home until 1:30am (which is extremely late for me). The best zydeco band out there and they even won a grammy. This is the fourth time we have seen them and we have a blast every time.  Michael dances and sings the WHOLE night.

Chubby Carrier

He truly loves the band!

Ann went with us and we had a so much fun people watching!

AHHH!  Michael always sweats in a heart shape.

Chubby invited all the ladies on stage so Ann and I got right up there and danced.

Michael and I dancing on stage in front of a hundred people.

Michael, Chubby and I

Dan and Holly also went with us and enjoyed Chubby for the first time.

Today has been pretty laid back.  Cass wanted braided spaghetti loaf for dinner so I made it for her.  I also made salted caramel pretzel bark.

For my dessert tonight I will be having white lemon strawberry sangria in my favorite new mason jar mug.

I want to wish my sister a Happy Birthday!  I hope she has had a wonderful day and I can not wait to see her in one week.  We have lots of fun things planned and I am sooooo looking forward to it.  Love you sister!!

She did get up for a short while to make the marinade for our cilantro thai chicken.  Thank goodness because it was good!

Fun in the Water

Tonight Ann and I walked on the water treadmill and then went to water aerobics. I have had several people ask me what the water treadmill looked like so here it is.  It is actually really fun.

Dylan playing basketball in the pool. (shocking)

Cass also went to water aerobics with Ann and I and she had lots of fun.

Sammy's Pizza

Well, you can tell Michael is gone because we went out for pizza again. This time our friends Vicki, Trent and Hannah met us at Sammy's pizza and it was really good.

Now I am making salted caramel cheesecake bars for my work friends. They are getting spoiled this week because I have already made them vanilla oatmeal no bake cookies and cinnamon cheesecake breakfast bars.

Finally after about three years we met up with my high school friends Lance and Dana. We ate dinner at the Epic Buffet in the new Hollywood Casino.

Lance won $100 on the big slot machine.

Co-Parenting

Since Michael and Ricky are not home, Ann volunteered to co-parent with me.  We decided to take the kids out for pizza.  We went to Chiusano's Brick Oven Pizzeria.

The garlic knots were delicious!

Dylan did not want to try them but we talked him into it and now he is a big fan of garlic knots.

The pizza crust and sauce were really good!

I forgot to post that Cass made mini cinnamon rolls  the other morning and we loved them.

I also baked two things that I really enjoyed.  I made oatmeal chocolate chip cupcakes with a cinnamon sugared chip frosting(yummy) and pretzel crusted peanut butter cup blondie pie(scrumptious).

Cooking With Cass

Cass and I have been doing a lot of cooking together and today she said, "I love cooking with you". I ran outside and told Michael to come take a picture of this moment because I want to remember this day forever.

Here are some of the recipes that Cass and I have enjoyed!  Hope you enjoy them also.

Celebrating the Fourth of July

We started off the day by meeting Ann S. at Cinemark to see The Amazing Spiderman and I loved it.  Then we came home and made homemade ice cream.  YUMMY

Enjoying the heat (not really)

The pooping dog firework!

Ann came over and spent the evening with us.  Michael smoked ribs, Cass made guacamole and crab stuffed jalapenos and I made some bean dip.  Ann made her delicious brownies to go with the homemade vanilla ice cream.  Ann and I also enjoyed a bourbon shady porch cocktail.

Big ol' sparkler

Ann and I even had some fun with sparklers.

GO CASS!!!

Spinning the sparklers as fast as he can

Dylan your favorite holiday is over (thank goodness)!

One Hot Sunday

This morning Michael was trying to remove this tree stump and the tree roots and he was having trouble.

Then he decided to use the Tahoe to remove it and it worked without hurting my vehicle.

Dylan preparing himself for playing two basketball games in a gym with no air conditioning.  I can not imagine how he felt because I was about to have a heat stroke.

GABL Elite won second in the tournament.  They were behind by 11 with three minutes left and Dylan made three 3-point shots and they lost by two.  Good job Elite!!!!

Then I came home and made brownie batter bark for work because I was not turning on the oven .

Yay, we have a four day week!!!

Bachelorette Party

My friend Katie will be getting married soon so she came back to Kansas City to have a bachelorette party.  We all met at the Brio on the Plaza. Here are some pictures that are acceptable for my family blog.

work friends (Ann, Katie, Ann, me and Stacey)

One minute into our evening Ann stepped on her shoe wrong and broke it.  Thank goodness the nice waiter brought her some blue tape to fix her shoe.  Some of you might not think this is funny but I was hysterical.
