Happy Birthday Michael and Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday Michael!! I had the day off so I took Michael out to lunch for his birthday at Thai Homeplace. Tonight I made his favorite meal which is meatballs and twice baked potatoes. I also made him mini buckeye cheesecakes for dessert since he loves peanut butter.

I was a room mother for Dylan's party today and here is Dylan trying to get an Oreo from his forehead to his mouth without using his hands.

Great Way to End the Weekend

We had a busy weekend! Michael was gone from Tuesday-Sunday so mom and dad came to visit this weekend so we wouldn't be so lonely. We did some shopping and Dylan had a football game. We made time to stop at V's Bakery. I would not suggest buying the cookies but their pies were pretty good.

Since Grandpa and Grandma will not be here Tuesday for Dylan's birthday they let him open his gift. They got him a Solo Skate.

Dylan had to try it out in the house first. He loved it!!

This morning I was busy making rats for Dylan's Halloween party at school. It took me three hours because I could only make four at a time.

Michael got home today and of course he had to work on his Christmas lights and Dylan helped out also!

Exhausting weekend!
Michael and I enjoyed a nice quiet evening sipping on apple cider margaritas. It was a great way to end the weekend!

Good Food and Good Company

Tonight we ate at Aixois with our friends Ann and Ricky. It is a French restaurant and it was delicious.

This is what we had for our appetizers. Michael and I had liver pate for the first time and Michael gagged and I thought it was edible!

Then the best part of the night was our dessert. We had ice cream at glace artisan ice cream. Michael tried blue cheese ice cream and goat cheese. He ended up with madagascar vanilla and cream cheese. I decided on the dark chocolate and the salted pretzel. YUMMY!!
We already have November date night on the calendar!!!

Cousin Sarah

Cousin Sarah and her boyfriend Matt came to visit for a couple days. The last time we had seen Sarah, she was pushing Cass all around in a stroller.

Wednesday night we took them to Skies at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The kids had never been there either and they thought it was pretty cool.

Thanks for visiting us Sarah and Matt! Come back and visit soon!

I Love Fall

Saturday morning Michael and Cass had to teach Aunt Ann how to use her new Ipad so Dylan wanted to make cookies while they were gone.

It was a very special day on Saturday for some of us. Cass had her first Homecoming dance! Wow, my girl is growing up!

It was also our 17th wedding anniversary. Michael and I had a wonderful dinner at Fogo de Chao and they even surprised us with creme brulee. It was delicous!! Then we walked around the plaza and then home to put comfy clothes on so we could breathe better.

Today Dylan had a football game and a basketball clinic and he was worn out so I let him pick what to have for dinner. We had tator tot tacos! Good choice Dylan!!

OK, I love pumpkin so I made two things with pumpkin in it. I made double chocolate pumpkin cupcakes with a pumpkin spice buttercream frosting and I had several friends wanting the recipe.

I liked my pumpkin coffee cake with a brown sugar glaze the best!! I love Fall!!

Weekend Wrap-up

Friday night the little cougars were able to go on the football field and make the tunnel for the high school cougars to run through. They were so cute out on the field!

After the high school football players ran out on the field I caught Dylan making this move.
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit this weekend. We went shopping, enjoyed Dylan's football game (they won), and went out to eat.

This morning we went to The BIG BISCUIT for breakfast. It was delicious and we will definitely be going back again. The biscuits and pancakes are huge!!

Everyone took a nap this afternoon except for Dylan and then we did a little cleaning around the house. Michael and the kids even cleaned the Tahoe inside and out. We just finished a game of SORRY and ate some triple peanut butter cookies. Now it is time to get mentally prepared for the week.

Time to Relax

Cass and Dylan each had a friend spend the night so I got up and made them breakfast. I made pumpkin breakfast puffs and sausage egg pizza.

When I got home from the store I found Michael and Dylan watching football in the garage. Apparently, they wanted to watch football on a smaller television.

Our family pumpkin is now dressed!!

I just finished making coconut cream pudding cookies and now off to take a shower and then relax for the rest of the evening.

A Perfect Fall Day

Well, I think I squeezed in my last trip to the pumpkin patch because the kids are at the age that it is not that cool anymore. We had a great day anyway!! We went to Kerby Farm in Bonner Springs and enjoyed the beautiful day.

Cass fell out of the slide and hit her head. What a sight!!

Dylan on the zipline

Dylan was trying to lasso a wooden horse.

We did not even get lost once in the corn maze.

Wimpy Cass was scared to go in the wimpy spook house but she did it without getting scared at all.

Pumpkin patch!

We had to take a hay ride to get to the pumpkin patch.

Then we got to pick out a family pumpkin!

We call it our "BUTT" pumpkin!

Happy Fall!!!
