Long Day

Yesterday I left the house at 5:20am and went to water aerobics and then worked from 7-5:30. At 5:30 I went to my friend Betty's baby shower. (we had it at work). Then off to the movie and I did not get home until 9:30pm. Cass and Dylan were asleep when I left in the morning and they were both asleep when I got home last night. That kinda sucked!

Several of us went in on a gift and we got her a jumperoo and an adorable outfit.

Off to the movies! I have officially seen all 10 nominated Oscar movies! YEA

Basketball Party

The Raptors had a pizza party tonight at Old Shawnee Pizza and Dylan received his first trophy ever! He was so proud!

Weekend Favorites

Here are my 3 favorite things from the weekend! (besides my parents coming for the weekend and Michael making it home safely from South Dakota)

1. Cinnamon Bun Pancakes with Maple Butter Icing

2. New Flat Wallet (mom, Cass and I each got one)

3. Texas Cheese Fries from Cheddars

Shocking that 2 out of the 3 is food! :)

Last Basketball Game

Tonight was Dylan's last basketball game and he was a little upset that daddy was out of town and was going to miss his last game. Cass and I knew a little secret about some special quests for the game! Grandma and Grandpa drove 4 hours to come see him play and Grandpa A drove back from his vacation and didn't even stop at home before the game. Dylan was very excited and was so surprised!

New Basketball Goal

This is the basketball goal Dylan has had since he was 3 years old.

We thought maybe it was time for a new one! We bought this used goal for $30 and it will just have to work until we decide to shell out the big bucks for a higher quality one.

Big difference!!!!

Workout Room

No more green shag carpet in the workout room!

Michael removed it and put down a new floor! It is interlocking tiles that have some cushion to it. Perfect for a workout room!

President's Day

Dylan decided to be sick today on our day off! No fever but throwing up! YUCK!

Cass and I found some recipes to try for President's Day so while Dylan was on the couch or in the bathroom we were cooking buddies in the kitchen.

We made President Bush's chocolate chip cookies.


We also made President Clinton's chicken enchiladas.

Both recipes were very good!

Happy Valentine's Day

World of Wheels

We spent the afternoon at the "World of Wheels". Cass and Dylan were not very excited about going but they ended up having a lot of fun. Dylan said "this is the best weekend" (he is going to see Monster Trucks tomorrow).

Then we saw Henry Winkler "The Fonz". Cass and Dylan had no idea who he was!!

Cass found the Mustang of her dreams!!




We also saw Dora the Explorer and Spongebob! My niece loves Dora so I had to take this picture!

My friend Jennifer wants an El Camino so I took a picture of this one for her! It is a 1973 model and I can just see her driving around in it!

Cass and Dylan were so excited to see Brenda Song. She plays "London" on the show "The suite life of Zach and Cody" Dylan was a little upset that we did not stand in the 2 hour line to meet her so I took a picture with Brenda in the background.

As you can tell he was not thrilled with that decision.

But then he forgot all about Brenda song when he saw Jamal Charles #25 for the Kansas City Chiefs. He even got his autograph! Dylan kept on saying "I just met my first NFL player" We had one happy boy!!

What a fun day!!!!

URGENT CARE

Everything is fine but we spent a couple of hours at Children's Mercy South Urgent Care last night because Dylan was having stomach pains that were making him cry. I thought it was just gas pains but when he said it was getting worse and he could barely move I decided to take him in! Guess what?? It was gas pains and probably a little backup of you know what. By the time we got home (11:15pm) he was feeling better and Cass and I were exhausted. He would not let me take a picture of him in his hospital gown but he was pretty proud of the bracelet.

Half day

Cass and Dylan only had a half day of school today so I decided to have a half day also. Everyday after school Cass has to walk only a block and then we pick her up, If there is snow on the ground she says the same thing when she opens up the car door "I HATE SNOW". Today I decided to take a picture of her stomping through the snow.

This afternoon Cass took a nap and Dylan worked on his Valentines. We were not very productive today!

Superbowl Sunday

What a great game!!! Our friends Chris and Kelly came over for the game. I made Cowboy Calzones, Cheese Dip, Spinach Dip and Life by Chocolate Cupcakes. Kelly made delicious cookies that tasted like puppy chow. Click here for Kelly's cookie recipe!
