Mini Golf and BBQ

Well, the boys finally found something they could beat the moms at...mini golf. I knew it wasn't going to be good game when my ball when through the fence onto the gravel road on the first hole. I got hysterical when Dylan threw it back over the fence and it got stuck in the bush.

Looking for my ball!

It was really stuck and I was laughing so hard while these two were trying to get it.  Then the best part of the night was on the second hole when Dylan hit the ball so hard that it hit a big tree and landed back on the green by the hole.

Thank goodness we had a little shade!

Dylan's butt was in the bush while he hit the ball.

Then after a fun-filled game of mini-golf we ate dinner at The Rub.

There is never a dull moment with these boys!!

Road Trip to Pittsburg

Today, Kelly and I took a road trip to Pittsburg. We had so much fun!!

First stop was my favorite place in the world! MALL DELI

We both made a wish and threw a penny in the mall wishing pond.

We had a nice walk around the Pittsburg State University campus and we did a little shopping at the student bookstore.

No one was around so all of our pictures had to be selfies today.

Go Gorillas!!

We had a little mid-afternoon snack at Tropical Sno.

I have childhood memories of Pittsburg also. I remember all of the fun I had at KIDDIELAND and I can't believe they are still open.

It's also a little scary that I think some of the rides are the exact ones from when I rode them in the 70's.

It was a great day and a fun road trip!!

Christmas in July at KC Wine Company

Lorie and I were hoping that if we celebrated Christmas in July that it would cool us off on this hot summer day.

We even got to see reindeer!!

And the wine was yummy like always at KC Wine Company!!

Love that place!

Boulevard Drive-in Theater

Tonight we finally took Cass and Dylan to the drive-in for the very first time.  We even took Mason to see "The Secret Life of Pets".

The drive-in brings back lots of memories of my childhood and my teenage days.

It wasn't even that hot tonight.

We even brought some yummy snacks with us.

Cass and Natasha

Mason met a friend

Oh no! Please don't rain!

It started reminding me of the movie "Twister" but it didn't even sprinkle on us.

What a fun night at the drive-in!

Happy Independence Day

After our whirlwind three day adventure at Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and Glen Canyon we made it home in time to celebrate Independence Day with our friends Chris and Kelly.

Kelly and I enjoying our blueberry vodka lemonades.

The boys having fun with fireworks!

This is Chris throwing a firecracker and Dylan trying to hit it with a baseball bat.

Cass and Mason

Mason pretty much just sat by the wood pile while the fireworks were going off.

This actually looks like we blew something up but it was just a fountain.

Kelly, Cass and I enjoyed the sparklers!!

Happy Independence Day 2016!!

Flying Over the Grand Canyon, Walking Through Antelope Canyon and Rafting in the Colorado River at Glen Canyon

Today was an amazing day! We left the hotel at 5:45am to drive to the Grand Canyon Airport. (It was a 5 minute drive)  We had to be there by 6 so we could get ready to board our little plane.

On our five minute drive we had three elk sitings.

Thank goodness he didn't run out in front of our car.

Here is the little plane we boarded to fly over the Grand Canyon.

Cass and Dylan ready for the adventure.

Views from the plane

Glen Canyon Dam

Lake Powell

Whew! We made it to land and next stop Antelope Canyon.

We hopped on the back of this truck and headed to Antelope Canyon.

Antelope Canyon was absolutely amazing!!!

It was such a beautiful walk to the other end of the canyon.

In the middle of Antelope Canyon.

After our tour of Antelope Canyon we jumped on a motorized raft that took us through Glen Canyon.

Glen Canyon Dam

They fed us a box lunch on the raft.

Excited about our three hour tour.

Beautiful Glen Canyon

Petroglyphs... some were 2000 years old.

This one was around 9000 years old.

Michael standing in the cold Colorado River.

Cass barely put her feet in because it was so cold.

Michael lost a bet with a ten year old so he got to dive into the 47 degree water.

It was a little chilly.

Bighorn sheep

We had a long three hour bus ride back but we got to stop and get snacks and buy souvenirs.

It was a long fun day but it looks like my family is worn out.

After our 12 hour tour we drove another hour to spend the night in Williams, Arizona.

We grabbed some dinner at this cute little diner.

Talk about a whirlwind trip! We made a lot of memories and were able to see a lot of beautiful things.
