Def Leppard/Poison Concert

Last night Michael and I had a fun evening. Cass made us dinner which was buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwiches before going to the Def Leppard/Poison concert.  The concert was really good but I think Poison was my favorite.

Our Sunday

Getting up before 7am was not fun but the rest of day was enjoyable.  Dylan had two basketball games this morning that is why we were up so early.  This afternoon consisted of being in the kitchen for hours.  Michael wanted to use his new sausage stuffer so we experimented with it with his homemade sausage.  I made grasshopper mint cookies and Cass made peanut butter rice krispy bars and she also made an appetizer for us.  She made crab filled crescent wontons.  They were really yummy.

After dinner Cass and Dylan started asking Michael and I about our whole relationship so we started from the beginning.  It was so much fun to talk about all the memories we have and afterwards the kids both said how much fun they had listening to our stories.  What an absolutely wonderful evening!!

Final Date Night

Well, our friends Ann and Ricky are moving to New Hampshire and we are going to miss them terribly. Ricky is leaving Monday and Ann will still be here for a couple of months(thank goodness).  Our final date night was at Stroud's and it was outstanding.  Yes, I cried when they dropped us off.  Oh how we have enjoyed date nights with all of the great food and lots of laughs.  Thanks Ann and Ricky for our once a month date night.

Work Trip to Vegas

This week the Education Team went to Las Vegas for a training and it was great!  We learned a lot and had a little fun.

On the clock (Mitchell, me and Ann)

Off the clock

I had never been to IN-N-OUT BURGER so that was one thing on my list to do while we were in Las Vegas.

It was soooooooooo good!  I wish we had one in Kansas City.

Lady Bugs made out of carnations. (I think at Caesars Palace)

We stayed at Treasure Island.

M&M World!  I love M&M's!!!!!!

We got in at 2:00am this morning and then went to work all day and then when I got home I went to Dylan's basketball game. I am extremely tired so if this blog does not make sense I am sorry!  Off to bed I go!

Basswood Resort/Happy Father's Day

We had a wonderful weekend at Basswood Resort. Cass and Dylan each invited a friend to go with them so the trailer was full.

My boys!!

Jake and Dylan

YAY!  Relaxation time

Michael got me a dutch oven for Christmas so we used it for the first time this weekend.

Cass and Mia

What are you doing honey?  Please do not get stuck!

Father/Son sack race

Maybe wearing Crocs was not such a great idea!

Happy Father's Day!!  Dylan made Michael a Pabst Blue Ribbon award that says "Daddy-O of the Patio" and Cass got him a sausage stuffer attachment for the Kitchen Aid mixer to help him with his homemade sausage.

Michael requested stuffed jalapenos tonight and they were delicious as always.

My man and his meat!!!  He grilled ribeye steaks tonight for his Father's Day dinner.

In other news, Cass made chocolate chip cream cheese cookies the other day when she was bored.

Also, she got a splinter in her foot and heard if you put a banana peel on the splinter that it will come out.  I have no idea if it worked but she looked ridiculous.

I made this for work last week and my friend Sheila wanted the recipe so here it is.  It was called cinnabon cinnamon roll cake.

Now it is time to try another new recipe called bikini martini and pack for my Las Vegas work trip and watch Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Miami Heat.

Happy Father's Day!!

Fun without Daddy-O

Since Michael was not going to be home tonight I took the kids to go see "Madagascar 3" and then Cass made us a sugar cookie in a cup in the microwave.  I was surprised but they were actually good.

Some Sunday Fun

Our Sunday started off with homemade iced coffee with homemade sweet cream to go with it. DELICIOUS!!

Cass loved the coffee and I also made cheesy sausage potato egg cups for breakfast.

Then we went to the Kansas City Sea Life Aquarium for the first time.  We really enjoyed it!

The four of us held starfish and played with little crabs.

Dylan sitting in the tunnel watching the fish swim by.

This huge eel slithered like a snake. YUCK

Fun day at the aquarium

Michael took us to city market after the aquarium and Cass and Dylan got smoothies at Lollicup.

I just made no bake peanut butter rice krispie treats to take to work but my family will not stay out of them so I might have to make more.  Now I am going to enjoy the rest of my evening sitting on the deck with a pineapple margarita.

Made it to the Weekend

Cass is volunteering this summer at Heartland Pet Adoption Center and she is loving it.  Of course the first cat she fell in love with was adopted today and she was a little sad but happy it now has a happy home.

I have not baked in weeks so when I saw this recipe I just had to try them.  They are cookie dough filled cookie cups.

Michael is now putting a ceiling fan in the garage because apparently every man needs one.

Ready for a nice relaxing weekend now!
