Dylan's Busy Week

Dylan's week started off by getting shots for middle school.  He wasn't real excited about that but he survived!

Then Monday-Thursday he had Speed Academy where they worked on speed, agility and power.  He LOVED it.

He even got a cool t-shirt.

The Eagles have been in a basketball tournament since Friday.  This morning the team ate breakfast at Todd's Diner before the championship game.

Dylan and Peyton waiting for their big game.

WE WON!!!  The boys took first place and it was sure a nail biter! They won by 3 points.

Good job Dylan!  What a great season and now that it is over football practice starts at 7am tomorrow.

There will not be a blog about Cass' busy week because she just hung out with Grandma and Grandpa.  Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for hanging out with the kids while Michael was in Vegas and I was at work.

A Fun and Busy Weekend

Yep, these will have Christmas lights on them!  I asked Michael where we are going to store these and he said he might have to build a shed just for the Christmas light stuff!! Oh, yay!!

This is what Christmas in July looks like at our house.

Mason thinks they are new toys.

Saturday night we went to Knuckleheads to see Chubby Carrier.  We always have a great time and last night was no different.

Michael, me, Rachel and Brad

My friend Lorie was also there and she loved Chubby also!

Lorie and I are dancing with Chubby! (I don't know the lady in front of me but she would not move out of my way)

Dylan was in a basketball tournament and today they won the championship game!  Good job Eagles!

After the games I took Cass and Dylan to see Turbo.  It was such a cute movie!

Happy National Ice Cream Day! (of course we had to celebrate)

One Direction Concert

As Michael stated, "The best part about the One Direction concert is that my daughter is old enough to go alone with friends. The worst part is that my daughter is old enough to go alone with friends." According to 99.7 The Point Michael's comment was the best one direction comment of the night.

Cass and Lili ready to get in the car and leave for the concert.

A few miles away!!!!

Downtown Kansas City

There were probably a thousand girls standing around hoping to see One Direction walk out of their tour bus.

My poor baby girl had to be at work at 9:30 this morning!  Back to reality for Cass Marie!

Wakeboarding Camp

Today Dylan went to wake boarding camp at KC Watersports. He was there from 8:30-3:30 having fun! Thank goodness they gave him a good lunch which was a hot dog, chips and a drink:)

He was so tired when he got home that he actually took a nap!!!

Groove Pilots

What a great night to go to a concert in the park!  It was even better that I knew someone in the band.  Dave Bostwick (an awesome former high school teacher of mine) is a member of the Groove Pilots.  They were a very enjoyable band that played great music.

It was great to visit with Dave and now looking forward to seeing him play again!

Look up the Groove Pilot's schedule and go see them play!  It was a fun night!

Our Kentucky Trip

We got up and left the house by 6am on July 4 and headed to Kentucky for a few days.

Picnic lunch at a rest area

After a 9 hour drive we made it to our little cabin!

Dylan making his bed.

Michael and I had a separate bedroom.

Relaxing on the porch in the log rocking chairs

Cass just chillin' out!

Thursday night we ate catfish at the Porky Pig Diner in Pig, Kentucky.

Friday morning Michael cooked bacon and eggs for us.

Yummy breakfast on the porch.

Then off to Mammoth Cave National Park to go on a cave tour.

Waterfall on our walk to the cave

Friday night we played BINGO and Michael and Dylan were both one number off from winning $80.

Saturday we went to Abraham Lincoln's Birthplace and this memorial is on top of where he was born.

Dylan volunteered to count the steps.

Ranger Ben gave Dylan a honorary ranger badge for counting the steps.  There were 56 steps, one for each year of Lincoln's life.

This memorial was built 6 years before the Lincoln Memorial was built in Washington, D.C.

This is called the sinking springs.  This is where the Lincoln family got their water.

My favorite part of our mini vacation was a tour of Maker's Mark Distillery.

Fermentation!!  We got to stick our finger in this and try it!

The label before it is put on the bottle.

Taste testing!!

Then I got to dip my own bottle of Maker's Mark in the famous red wax.

Dipping my bottle

I do not think they will be hiring me to be the hand dipper of the bottles.

Saturday night Dylan was finally able to go down the water slide at the campground.

Dylan entered a watermelon eating contest.

He tied for first in his age group!!

I enjoyed some delicious Kentucky bourbon balls on our last evening in Kentucky!!

Cass and Michael went zip lining but there are no pictures.

What a great trip to Kentucky!!
