Last Day of 2014

New Year's Eve was pretty lame this year! We had delicious snacks though... we had hot wings, puppy chow, homemade funfetti sheet cake (awesome recipe), crockpot chex mix, and jalapeño popper dip.

We rented three movies and only watched two.  The movie "When the Game Stands Tall" was a really good movie.

We had a few games of table tennis in the garage.

We all pretty much suck!

Happy last day of 2014

My Sunday...

Today I had fun shopping with my gift cards I got for Christmas.

I bought a new shirt, desk calendar, cuisinart mini chopper, Vera Wang purse, wallet and

two new oven mitts.

Then for dinner I made three new recipes bacon wrapped new potatoes w/ garlic aoli, garlic parmesan dinner rolls, jalapeño creamed corn and Michael grilled pork porks. 

It was a pretty good Sunday in my opinion! (Especially since the alarm will not be going off tomorrow.)

J. Rieger's Whiskey Tour and Lunch at Local Pig

Michael and I took a distillery tour of J. Rieger's Whiskey in Kansas City, Mo.

This is where they will making a new batch of whiskey that will be ready in 4-5 years.

We were able to participate in the bottling process.

After the tour we ate lunch at the Local Pig....

and bought fresh pork chops to eat tomorrow night.

It was a fun Saturday afternoon!!

Day After Christmas

Michael and I had a movie date at Cinemark and saw "Unbroken".

 I took down all of the Christmas decorations inside.  Bye Bye Christmas tree!

Cass and I made peppermint mocha frozen hot chocolate. 

Dylan walked around the house with his new royals pants and new nike elite hoop basketball bag.

I hate it when Christmas is over!

Who has ever eaten Christmas dinner in the garage??

Before dinner Michael and I realized we didn't get horseradish for the prime rib!  We went to Ryan's and they gave us some for free.  Ryan's restaurant saved the day!!

Christmas dinner was prime rib (thanks Michael), mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing and rolls.  For dessert we had homemade brownies, mint chocolate chip ice cream and homemade mounds balls (coconut balls).

Dylan and Michael got a special gift.  Our friend Jennifer made a wonderful picture with the boys' Royals pictures.  It was awesome!

A Fun Day with Mom and Dad

Today my Dad and I had our annual shopping day to shop for Mom. We always enjoy our day together and we always have a few laughs.

I let Mom wrap a lot of the presents because I suck at wrapping presents and she is wonderful at it.

After our busy day, Mom and I are sitting and enjoying a caramel coffee toddy.  They are yummy.  Last night we enjoyed Andes mint hot chocolate with rum chata.

More Winter Break Fun

We started off our day by going to Woodsweather Cafe for breakfast.  We kind of look like we belong in the mural.

When we got home I went to Starbucks to get my Peppermint mocha so I could come back home and start wrapping presents.  I know you are all jealous that I get to wrap presents in the basement on the table saw.

Then it was time to make our homemade sugar cookies!!

Cass did not participate in the decorating of the cookies.

Afterwards, Dylan and I went shopping at the mall (which I HATE shopping at the mall) and I just finished making peanut butter balls.  Mom and Dad are coming tomorrow so bring on the shopping and the holiday cocktails.

I Love Winter Break!!

A great day with my kids on our first day of winter break.  Dylan and I went to the movies and saw THE HOBBIT.

After the movie Cass and I got our nails done!

Now a Christmas movie and a beverage!! I love winter break.
