Lunch at Twin Peaks

My father-in-law is in town for a little while so he took us to Twin Peaks for lunch today. Sorry no pictures of our waitress but the boys were happy.

Dylan ordered chicken fried steak and when they brought it to him he started laughing so hard.  He did NOT eat it all!

I have not blogged any recipes for a long time so here you go!  Today I made brownie cookies with salted caramel creme frosting but here are a lot more recipes: caprese pasta salad, reese's peanut butter cup bark, tex-mex chicken and cheese pies, oatmeal cream pie brownies, caramel macchiato brownies, snickerdoodle cookie dough truffles, salted caramel chocolate cake, buckeye brownie cookies, buttermilk maple french toast muffins with cinnamon streusel and maple buttermilk glaze, egg and sausage breakfast ring and caramel apple dip.

Fun-Filled Day

This morning Cass and I took Mason to his first dog swim.  He had more fun running around on land chasing the other dogs.

Cass had to put him in the water because he would not do it himself.

He tried to jump out of the water but that didn't work.

Cass put him in the deeper water and he swam back to shore:)

This afternoon I went to a wedding shower for Mitchell and Nick.

Then this evening I went to my first bachelor party. Love the t-shirts!!

We even got party favors.  They took candle stick holders and mason jars and made adorable glasses.  I will definitely be drinking some cocktails out of these.

I am exhausted so I will be going to bed now!!

Enjoying Some Deck Time

Our friends Katie and Danny came over for some good food, drinks and some deck time.  It was a beautiful evening to be sitting on the deck especially in August.

I got to enjoy this yummy drink that you can only purchase in Kentucky.  I was a little sad that we chose not to purchase any when we were there last month.  Michael had a friend that went to Kentucky last week so guess what I got for my birthday.  It was a nice surprise.

Middle School Here I Come!

Today Dylan had his first day of middle school. I can't believe I have a seventh grader! He had a pretty good first day but the big eighth graders start tomorrow so we will see how tomorrow goes.

Birthday Fun

Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes, calls and texts! I had a day with no plans and it was nice.

My new Pitt State Sweatshirt(thanks Sister), Pyrex glass snap ware containers and yes that is a big hunk of meat. Michael grilled filet mignon for my birthday dinner:)

Cass was able to come home from work for a 45 minute break for dinner so she was glad she did not miss out on the delicious steak.

Then my friends Sheila, Pete and Katie stopped by after dinner for a birthday cocktail.  We had a Blue Dolphin and since Sheila is the one that swam with dolphins with me it was an appropriate cocktail. Thanks Sheila for my adorable "Woof" frame.

Now back to work tomorrow:(

Royals Game

We had a great Friday night!!  I got home from work and we immediately got in the car and went straight to the Royals Stadium.  Michael and the kids had a cooler packed with tailgate goodies.  Cass even made us chocolate chip cookies.
