Girls Weekend 2010

My mom, sister and I decided last year to have a girls weekend once a year with no children or husbands. Last year we went to Oklahoma and this year it was here in Kansas City! Next year it will be in Wichita and mom is planning it! My mom and sister arrived at the house around 9:15pm and we checked into the Hyatt around 10pm. I had not eaten supper and I was a little hungry so we went to Spectators Lounge at the hotel to have a drink and some delicious nachos.

Then we went upstairs and put our pajamas on and decided we needed something sweet. We ordered room service and we got a scrumptious brownie sundae with vanilla bean ice cream. I am surprised I did not have heartburn that night.

Then off to sleep!!!

Friday morning we took our time getting ready and walked the link to go to Crown Center.

We had to start the morning off with coffee but no Starbucks. Yes, I said NO Starbucks. We found that Sheridans had coffee so we tried one. It was NOT Starbucks!!!

For breakfast we had delicious cinnamon rolls from "Big Momma's" bakery. I saw Big Momma's on TV the other day so I wanted to try it.

Do you see all of the icing??? ( If we had just had a microwave to heat them up!!)

After spending the morning shopping at Crown Center, we drove to the Plaza and did a little shopping and we saw the movie "Due Date". It was pretty funny! As we were driving around the Plaza my mom starts yelling "that's that's" and points out the window. It was Richard Simmons and my sister yells out the window " Hey, Richard" and he turns around and waves at us. Look through the window of the car and you can see that he has his short shorts on.

Don't worry! I talked her out of buying this hat!

We had a full day of shopping and stopped for dinner at Kona Grill on the Plaza.

Of course we had to have dessert so we drove to Prairie Village and bought some baked goods at Dolce Baking Company.

We could not decide so we bought an assortment!

Saturday was full of more shopping but this time at Legends. We picked up Cass and she joined us for the day! In the afternoon we picked up my dad and headed for Dylan's last football game of the year. Dylan was very excited to have Grandpa, Grandma and Auntie "M" to watch him play. He was even more excited and proud after he made his second 2 point conversion of the year. Apparently, on the way to the game Dylan asked Michael what was considered a "butt whoopin" in football. Look at the score, I think we can say his team did it!!! Their record was 4-4.

I can not believe my fun weekend with my mom and sister is over!! Already looking forward to next year!!
