We took a little trip to St. Joseph, Missouri and Weston, Missouri today. Our first stop was to learn a little about the pony express and the route is posted behind Cass and Dylan.
The Patee House was built as a luxury hotel and was used as the headquarters for the pony express. This museum is listed in the "1000 things to see before you die" book and is in the top ten best western museums. It was a great museum!

Then we went to the Glore Psychiatric Museum. Dylan was excited because he did a report on Phineas Gage.
This contraption was used to bring the body temperature up to cure things that penicillin is used for today.
They thought if they contained someone crazy it would cure them.

We went under O'Malley's and saw where they use to make beer in the 1800's.
Michael and I sampled some of their beers in the underground bar and then it was time to head home.
