Justin Timberlake Concert

Last night Cass went to the Justin Timberlake Concert and when she got home she bought a ticket to go see him again tonight. Crazy girl!!

Homemade Foam Pit

Dylan made a homemade foam pit. He took some old foam we had in the attic and some scrap wood from the basement so he could have his own foam pit.

A Much Needed Day Off!

Today I took the day off so I could spend it with my friend that I only get to see once a year because she lives in New Hampshire.  I was lucky enough to see Ann Friday and Saturday night also.  I am so excited because Ann and Ricky have decided to spend a couple of days in New York City when we go in a few months.  Ann and I went to Cupini's for lunch and it was sooo good. Then she wanted to do a little shopping at Kansas Sampler and get a drink from Sonic (it's the little things you miss when you move away).  I made us a little treat for when we got home.  I made Andes Mint cookie dough truffle bars and they were super easy!

Later in the afternoon our friend Sheila came over and we just relaxed and made fun of the movie on the SyFi channel about a dinosaur/shark.  Seriously!!

"Big River" at the Kauffman Center

Michael and I went to the Kauffman Center for the first time and we got to see our friend Pete in the musical "Big River".

My friend Ann came into town for our friends wedding so she came to the show also.  Of course Sheila was at the show to support her husband Pete.

National Tequila Day

I am glad I have a friend that will celebrate the important holidays with me. It is National Tequila Day!

"Social" Painting Class

Sheila and I tried something new today. We went to the Wine Barn Winery and took a painting class. I am NOT a painter but thought it would be fun to drink wine and paint.

It took a lot of concentration so I don't know if the wine was a good idea.

The instructor went around and took pictures for all of us with our own cameras.

We had lots of fun and even had some laughs.

This is what the instructor painted so Sheila and I are pretty proud that ours didn't look too bad.

Thanks Sheila for always being up to try something different.

Hit and Run 5K

This afternoon Michael and Dylan ran the Hit and Run 5K. There were obstacles along the way just like the show WIPEOUT.

While I was waiting for the boys, I saw my friend Dana and was able to snap a quick shot.

I was not able to make it to all of the obstacles but this was the last one and Dylan made it all the way without falling in the water or getting hit by the giant moving red balls.

Chappell's Restaurant and Sports Museum

Tonight we went out to dinner with our friends Danny and Katie.  We tried Chappell's Restaurant and Sports Museum.

It was voted in the top 10 restaurants and sports museums in USA Today and voted in the top 25 best sports bars in Sports Illustrated.

The football helmets hanging from the ceiling were really cool.

The food was really good!

On the way home, we stopped at Aunt Jean's for dessert and Danny got fruity pebble gelato.  YUCK!

What a fun night with friends!!

A Relaxing Monday

It is nice to have a couple more days off from work. It gives me time to get all of the laundry done from vacation.

Mason enjoyed a nap during the nice little rain we got this morning.

I took Cass to Strawberry Hill Povitica Company.  We got there while they were baking and it smelled so good.  Making povitica bread is a long hard process and so delicious.

Of course I bought some to take home.  We did not buy the original flavor which is walnut but we did buy the cream cheese chocolate chip povitica.

Each loaf weighs 2.5 pounds (that is more than Cass weighed when she was born).  Cass promised me that she would eat it for breakfast until it was all gone.

This afternoon Dylan wanted to make fudgy brownie chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream sandwiches.

They were pretty scrumptious!!

One more day off then back to the real world!
